|The game will be accompanied by Virtual Console versions of Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. A Pokemon Bank app for the Switch will be launched soon after Pokemon Stars, and will allow users to transfer Pokemon from players' current Bank, along with the ability to transfer Pokemon from the new Virtual Console games.|
The new Alolan Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Stars will be unable to be sent to Pokemon Sun and Moon, and the games themselves will be incompatible with each other. However, using the updated Pokemon Bank app, you will be able to send Pokemon obtained in Sun and Moon into Pokemon Stars.
The game has been confirmed to have an all-new storyline featuring the Legendary Pokemon Necrozma. Whether or not the Prism Pokemon will get a new form has yet to be confirmed. It has also been confirmed that the Ultra Beasts will play a prominent role in the story.
