As the second oldest member who has posted in this thread next to you (this is Genius. Surprise surprise), I wholeheartedly agree, assuming you are referring to 2004-2006 and not 2003.

When I joined in 2004, I was a total n00b. This forum literally brought me up on the Internet. I loved it. I remember knowing pretty much everyone who was active. I missed the first Dark Mastermind Event, but was here for the second, and it was fun. The Shop and Items and Points were fun too, before people wanted to complain about the way they worked instead of enjoying them. The forums back then are one of the reasons I consider Middle School the greatest years of my life. I never left for more than a week. Then Diamond and Pearl hit America, and the site exploded. Tons of people joined. The site was popular. What we had always wanted. But then it didn't go as well as expected. The forums got too big. People knew each other barely better than on 4chan because there were so many posters. Old members, Mods included, dropped off one by one. I maintained that the site was doomed. I was ridiculed of course, but how many members do you see posting who were here before April 22 2007 now? People didn't like it as much. I slowly got frustrated with the new forums, letting it build up until I had had it, a controversial issue came up, I got myself sandboxed and left.

The only reason I'm here is because I heard the place was small again. Granted, I don't know many people now, but I kind of hope the Forums stay smaller, and I can start over. That's the reason I don't want my old account back. I'm starting over. Of course, if the place does get big again, I may leave again, though less dramatically.

So, yeah, I miss 2004-2006. Those were the days.

    Hello Genius!

(okay, this doesn't count considering I only signed in to post this, but screw it :P)

Anyways on topic; the old forums back in the day were good because it was a more compact community whilst still having the beef to support itself. Nowadays I find it too busy, although no-one can be blamed other than the DP hype.

The best Christmas song is "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Paul McCartney.

You have good taste. McCartney ftw!
