Back in mid-2016, a suggestion came up for the implementation of visitor messages/comments on user profiles — something that we did have the ability to implement but ultimately decided against doing because we could not figure out a way to disable post count on profiles. While this is still the case, with the large amount of support it had from the community back then, as well as the support it still has from the staff now, we have decided to bring this feature to light.
You now have a Comments tab on each of your profiles!
These work similarly to article comments. Once a comment is posted, other users may choose to start a comment chain of their own, or use Reply or Quote to answer an existing comment (in which their post will be indented under the comment that is being answered).
Profile comments have their many uses, and we hope you enjoy this feature — but use it responsibly. Remember that just as with your comments on the forums and on articles, all Azurilland forum rules apply!
I think I fixed most of the issues the feature had beforehand, but notification redirection does not work properly. You will get a notification for profile comments posted by those you follow, but instead of linking you directly to the comment, it will take you to the profile the comment was posted on. From there, you will have to navigate to the Comments tab and find the comment in question.
We will keep digging around to see if it is something that can be fixed on our end, but if it's not we apologize; but at least it's not that big of a bug, aye? ♥
Enjoy the new feature! Please let us know if you have any questions.
So could this technically work a bit like a blog or is it more like FB? Like if we ever wanted to post a picture or something.
Anyway, yeah, nice feature. I'm a bit hesitant as to how it will work but maybe that's just me?
Well, I mean, as long as you stay within Azuri's rules you can technically use these profile comments in any way you see fit. If you want to post a picture on your own comment section you can =)
