This is a drawing contest which is held monthly for those who would like to challenge and improve their skills as an artist, as well as for those who would simply like to draw something for fun of it. We absolutely encourage everyone to give it a go. Overall, the goal of this contest is to promote art within our community, and have fun!
Each month will have a theme which all entries must follow, chosen by the winner of the previous month. During the entry phase, any member may create a drawing which follows the theme, and PM it to myself (Azusa). This phase will last until the 20th. Once the entry phase is over, I will create a separate thread for voting. All entries will be posted anonymously, and any member may vote by posting which entry is their favourite. The artwork with the most votes is the winner, and all of the artists will be revealed. If you wish to stay anonymous, let me know sometime before the voting period ends. More details about voting will be outlined in the voting thread.
Create a drawing which follows the theme and following guidelines and upload it to an image sharing site (I would recommend Imgur). Make sure you PM the image or link to myself (Azusa), do not post it in this thread or anywhere else until the voting period is complete.
Both digital art and traditional art are accepted. However, if one is submitting a traditional artwork, please ensure that you have a clear image of it. If you don’t have a scanner, a good shot with a camera will be fine.
Please make sure all drawings are appropriate.
Your submission must be made during this month, drawings created before or have previously been shared will not be accepted.
You must submit your own work at all times! There are no exceptions, as plagiarism is a serious issue. If you are caught plagiarizing, you will be immediately disqualified. It may even result in an official warning.
Important rule: You are allowed to include a short artist statement, in which you can talk about the meaning behind your artwork and/or the process of your artwork. This is entirely optional. Your artist statement must abide by the following:
You must not include any clues which may hint to your identity, such as writing habits or personality hints. Keep it informative, straightforward and concise.
It can only be a maximum of 50 words.
Do not use any persuasive writing of any sort in order to sway the audience and gain more votes.
Remember that your artist statements will be checked over before it is displayed.
The theme for this month is Morning! Quite an interesting and fun prompt, I can't wait to see how this is interpreted!
