We will be archiving Azurilland on November 8th, 2018. On this date, the site will become read-only. Thanks for your patronage through the years!
Azurilland was shut down on November 8th, 2018. You're viewing an archive of this page from 2018-11-01 at 17:24. Thank you all for your support! Please get in touch via the Curse help desk if you need any support using this archive.
II. Thundawave is a moderator of this roleplay. If you are unable to reach me at any point, please refer your questions to Regine and she will answer in my stead. Please respect her as you would respect me, the creator of this roleplay.
III. Please inform others of any impacting decisions such as a plot twist or new relationship. I am definitely open to side quests and little stories. If you would like to see your ideas implemented in the roleplay, please discuss them with me and I will try to accommodate you as much as possible. That being said, if they do not appear in the main roleplay, your ideas might resurface as a roleplay prompt in the Campfire.
IV. Participants that have not posted reliably over a decent period of time will be kicked and replaced. Please, please, please inform me if you will not be able to post regularly. I will most likely be lenient as this is simply the nicest thing you can do for everyone in the roleplay.
V. If you need to drop out for any reason, let the rest of us know and create a resolution with your character. Unlike the above post, this is only if you decide that you MUST drop out because of circumstances.
I. This will be a Casual roleplay. While this means there are not minimums for posting, I do insist on good grammar and style. However, I require that your Personality, Brief Bio, and Appearance follow the Formal guidelines, which means that you must write both five (5) sentences and seven (7) lines of text in each of your posts.
II. Please roleplay in the third-person point-of-view. This is just to make sure that everyone stays on the same page and doesn't get confused. You would use pronouns such as "he, she, they, etc." instead of "I, me, etc." or "you, etc."
III. To show that you have read the rules, please put your nickname in the 'Username' section of the application. Taking myself as an example, I would put the name 'Jaye' instead of my actual username, which is Karolina. Not only does this let me know that you follow the rules, it also tells me what to call you in casual conversation. I mean, Karolina is sort of annoying to type every time you want to talk to me. Jaye is much easier, if you get my drift.
IV. If you have any questions regarding the roleplay, please Private Message Karolina (myself) or Thundawave and we will answer as soon as possible. As for any other OOC-chatter, a Private Message group chat as well as a Discord server will be created for any and all OOC posts. I would much rather that people don't post simply to ask a question. It breaks up the flow of the thread and disrupts things. If you do this, I will simply delete your post. So unless you want me to do so, please just Private Message me or Regine (Thundawave).
V. There will be no reserves in the roleplay, except for the leaders of the roleplay (myself and Thundawave). It will not be first come, first serve. You are free to submit as many unique characters as you want for the various band positions. However, only one will be accepted. Additionally, I will not be accepting any reserves for band positions. Instead, I will set a deadline for people to submit their character forms and, when the deadline is passed, I will choose the characters that I feel will best fit into a band together.
If I feel like there are areas in which your character can improve, I will either post a critique in the campfire or Private Message it to you. Please do not feel upset if your character is not accepted - if anything, this is good practice on creating a modern character and seeing what you can improve on.
Username:Just for reference. I want to know who exactly I will be roleplaying with. Discord:If applicable. If you don't feel comfortable with putting this here, you are welcome to PM me with your Discord username (unless we are already friends on Discord). This being said, Discord is not required for this. Band position:Please designate which band position your character will fill. This is not first come, first serve. I will choose the characters that I feel best fit into the band after the deadline to submit forms has past.
Name:Your character's full name. This must include at least first name and last name, but could be broadened by a middle name. Nickname:Does your character have a nickname that he or she goes by? This is not a required field. Gender:Male or Female? If you would like a trans character, or something along that line, please clear it with me first. Keep the gender balance as even as possible, please! Sexuality:What is your character's sexuality? Age:Between nineteen and twenty-six, please. This is simply to make sure that there is no under-age stuff going on. That kind of stuff weirds me out. Birthday:When is your character's birthday?
Appearance:Please use a picture and describe your character fully (i.e. hair color, eye color, height, body type, and general clothing style). Remember that this section must be both five (5) sentences and seven (7) lines of text. Also, you must choose a face claim from the directory [here]. If you want to use a person not found on the directory, you must clear that person with me first. Faceclaim:This is simply the name of the person that your character's appearance is based on. Remember that this is a real person.
Personality:Please give a full picture of your character, from their basic reactions to innate characteristics. Remember that your character's personality is different from their 'Brief Bio.' Of course, events from their past can affect their current personality, but focus more on who they are as a person, not what happened to them. Remember that this section must be both five (5) sentences and seven (7) lines of text. Likes: Post at least three of your character's likes. This can include their favorite things or simply things that they like to do in their spare time. This can also include vices that they can't live without. Habits: Post at least three of your character's habits. Everyone has little quirks that make them unique, from cracking their knuckles to cursing when they get too excited. Have fun with these, as they make your character stand out from everyone else's! Fears and Dislikes: Post at least three of your character's fears or dislikes. This can be a simple aversion, such as a dislike of small talk to extreme phobias such as water or such. Maybe your character has a fear of water that will spice up their interactions in the roleplay. These fears can be used to make the plot more exciting.
Home Town:Where was your character born and where do they currently reside? Brief Bio:This will give a full picture of what made your character into the person he or she is today. The 'Brief Bio' should include early childhood, important events, and growth into the person they are today. This also will include why these chose to join the band. Remember that this section must be both five (5) sentences and seven (7) lines of text; however, a good description of your character's life should be longer than this.
Relationships:TBD. This section of the character form will be filled out if or when your character is accepted. You will work with the other roleplayers to create relationships between the band members. Since they have to live together, the characters will have definite reactions to each other, possible friendships and/or romantic inclinations, or maybe they even find another person annoying. It's up to you to develop these initial relationships and develop them throughout the roleplay. Other:Anything else that may be important for the rest of us to know. You can be creative here! MBTI: A list of the MBTI types and their descriptions can be found [here]. Speaking color: Please include a hex color in this format (#xxxxxx). A list of hex colors can be found [here]. This color must also be readable, so stay away from yellows, pastels, or bright neons. Theme song: Add a theme song that either describes your character, speaks to them on a personal level, or is simply their favorite song. You can choose to add a YouTube link for the song.
Writing Sample:Please put this in a spoiler. Write a post about how your character's interview for the band went. They would have to perform a short song, showing off their skills to the judges, along with a brief introduction about themselves (name, age, band position, what makes them stand out).
II. Secondary Male Vocalist | Guitarist The band member that plays both guitars. They also provide the male secondary vocals. Light:Ash Nick-Mills
III. Secondary Female Vocalist | Lyricist | Keyboardist The designated lyric writer of the band who also plays the keyboard. They also provide the female secondary vocals. Dawn Dratini:Nicole Alejandra García
IV. Guitarist The band member that can play both the electric and acoustic guitar. Thundawave:Tiffany Krystal Lee
Not all roles will be taken, depending on interest and acceptance. Please keep in mind that gender ratio will be kept as even as possible while you write your character form. If you need an extension or have any questions, please Private Message both myself (Karolina) and Thundawave.
Though I will critique forms the entire time, no character will be accepted until once the deadline has passed. After then, I will go through the forms and select the remaining band members for the roleplay. As such, there are no reserves for this roleplay.
So shine bright tonight,
You and I
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Eye to eye,
We’re beautiful like diamonds in the sky
Username: Karolina Discord: Jaye#4059 Band position: Lead singer
Name: Aelle Kaiya Rivers Nickname: None, Aelle prefers to go by her first name. Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Age: 21 Birthday: June 23
Appearance: Irish and French descent | 5'7 height | 120 lbs | Ginger hair | Light blue eyes | Pale skin
Aelle is stands at a slightly-above average height, which she likes to boost with heels ranging from an inch to three inches. She is somewhat insecure of her thin stature, and sometimes wishes that her assets were bigger. Her flaming red hair is her main vanity, kept waist-length and in flawless condition. She likes to experiment with various hairdos, wearing it in loose curls one day and in a high ponytail the next.
Aelle loves to wear makeup, but keeps it clean and simple, usually choosing a black winged liner to compliment her striking blue eyes most days. Luckily, her pale skin remains clear of blemishes which she is extremely thankful for. Her nose is small and straight, matched with the smallest of freckles dotting her cheeks, though they are usually hidden. Aelle is proud of her soft lips and likes to wear flattering lipsticks to make her pout really stand out.
Her style can be thought of as fashion-forward, taken from her mother. Aelle keeps up on the latest trends and likes to show off her personality through accessories and touches of color. Her favorite type of clothing is fun and flirty, and she tends to wear dresses and skirts more than anything. However, she is conscious of hem length and is adamant about her clothing covering up the important bits. It is very rare that she keeps a purse with her, as the most she carries around is her cell phone, which remains tucked away in a pocket. Aelle wears small earrings in both of her piercings at all times, usually coupled with some sort of statement necklace and delicate rings. Faceclaim: Elyse Levesque
Personality: Extroverted | Sarcastic | Adventurous | Loyal | Optimistic | Adaptable | Fearless
Aelle is easily defined by her endless amounts of energy and drive. She is always busy doing something and can't seem to sit still. Occasionally, this can be helpful to her, but most of the time, this means that Aelle is getting into some kind of trouble - so she often needs to be rallied in by her friends. Aelle is also very adventurous and wants to be at the center of the action, though she's usually the one creating the action in the first place. Even so, she is very friendly and open with others, making it a life motto to make as many connections as possible.
Aelle is highly optimistic, and her entire value system revolves around looking for the best in every situation and in every person. She is fiercely loyal to her friends and family, though she is quite snarky with those that she loves. Though her mouth can get in the way, Aelle is a good team player and will do her best to ensure that everyone will succeed together; she is normally very supportive of other people, except for those that get on her bad side.
This being said, Aelle is notorious for holding grudges, despite her cheery personality. It's somewhat of a paradox, but she embraces her contradictory nature. When someone gets on her bad side, Aelle will go out of her way to be as sarcastic as possible and can be quite petty at times - coming into conflict with her "go with the flow" attitude. Her temper is on par with her energy, and the two can be the more unrelenting combination. She is known for playing pranks on her enemies, ranging from harmless to elaborate to downright diabolical.
At her core, Aelle is just in it for the ride. She thrives off of adrenaline and wants to have a good time as much as possible. Similarly, she wants others to have fun and to enjoy life to its fullest. Because she tries to live in the moment all the time, Aelle can have trouble with thinking outside the present time, but it's all part of her charm and enthusiasm. If she could have it her way, there would never be a dull moment or any regrets. She will always reach for the stars and her biggest dream is to shine among them. ♬ Likes:

Home Town: Aelle was born in France, but moved to the United States when she was three. Now, she currently resides in New York City. Brief Bio:
To know Aelle's story, you have to start at the beginning. Her father, Henry James Rivers, was a highly successful businessman who was forging his own path in the budding tech industry. For a period in his life, Henry Rivers lived in flat located right beside the Seine in Paris, France. He was only supposed to stay a couple months while he closed a business deal with a local company; however, he was drawn to the country - and in particular, to a woman who would often sit on a particular bench next to the riverside in the late afternoon. That woman was Alice Marie Rousseau, who would become his wife and Aelle's mother. It took time, but eventually, Henry worked up the courage to introduce himself to Alice and the rest from there was a whirlwind romance. It turned out that Alice was a model for a famous French company, so the two of them remained in France for two years - until Alice found out that she was pregnant. She gave birth to her daughter, Aelle, in a hospital room that overlooked the Seine. The new family stayed in France until Aelle turned three, at which point Henry was needed back in the United States.
Soon enough, they relocated to New York City, where Aelle would grow up. Her parents were often busy with their jobs, so Aelle spent time in between her father's company offices and her mother's photoshoots. Otherwise, she was busy exploring the sights of the city alongside a varying assortment of nannies. Aelle was a somewhat rebellious child and would often run off from supervising eyes, getting into small mischief here and there. Even in elementary school, the principal was well acquainted with Aelle and her family - as a result of Aelle's multiple escapades. Despite all her rambunctious energy, the young girl was highly intelligent. She just needed to learn how to channel everything into one specific interest, something that Aelle was truly interested in.
However, Aelle had always loved singing. Even though it started off as a talent and a hobby, her passion for music flourished with her singing ability. It was as if she could speak to others in the purest form through her voice, and nothing could come close to the euphoria that accompanied. Her parents quickly saw Aelle's talent, and encouraged her to consider this as a career - much to her surprise.
Though she dabbled a bit with playing different instruments, her voice alone was her ticket to Juilliard, where she learned all the technical details that go along with that career. When she wasn't at school, Aelle would sing at a small cafe, where she started to build up a following. When she was creating music, Aelle finally felt like she could step out of her parents' large shadows. She could create a name for herself - one that wasn't connected to their success. Her favorite pastime involved sitting by the Hudson River, writing her own music and dreaming about the day when she could turn this passion into a career.
When Aelle heard about Nova Entertainment and the company's search for band members, she quickly boarded a plane to California with her parents' well wishes. Finally, she was doing something that she believed in, and nothing was going to stand in her way. It was a new state, a new city, and an unknown territory, but Aelle was going to make it work. Amongst thousands of other applicants, she was going to have to shine out in order to make the cut. But a few weeks later, she got the call. She was in! Aelle had never had any siblings before, so she had no idea what she was getting into with five other strangers - but what the hell? She was ready for anything.
Ash Nick-Mills: Aelle and Ash get along very well, as they have similar personalities, outlooks, and energy levels. Aelle considers Ash her partner-in-crime, and they definitely tend to get into more trouble together than the other band members. Ash's playboy attitude amuses Aelle, and she'll try to help him pick up girls sometimes. She knows not to take him too seriously most of the time, but Aelle can talk to him about anything.
Nicole Alejandra García: Though Nicole is an introvert and Aelle is an extrovert, the two tend to get along very well. Because of they both seek to find the goodness in others, they have found a unique friendship with each other. Aelle has become fond of Nicole's quirks and personality traits, but especially admires Nicole's creativity and song-writing ability. In fact, the two will have late night heart-to-heart chats at times, where they can confide in each other openly.
Tiffany Krystal Lee: Put simply, Aelle and Tiff are dangerous together. Aelle loves her like a little sister and gets extremely protective over her. Tiff's bubbly attitude blends well with Aelle's optimistic outlook, and Aelle can easily talk Tiff into getting into trouble with her. However, the two can easily get into too much trouble together, ending up in Tiff crying and Aelle calming her down. During these times, there's quite a bit of ice cream binging, but Aelle wouldn't have it any other way.
Amelia "Amy" Barkworth: As roommates, Aelle has made it her personal vow to get Amy out of her shell. She tends to be more confrontational with Amy, because she wants the other girl to be less pessimistic. At times, they can get on each other's nerves, but Aelle will be the first one to say sorry (though this is reserved only for Amy alone). Though she doesn't know the full extent of Amy's past, Aelle knows that she's been through a lot and wants to open that door.
Joshua William Brown: Unfortunately, Josh and Aelle got off on the wrong foot and he's currently on her bad side. The main problem that she has with Josh is his tendency to put up facades. Aelle knows that he's a good guy deep down, but she wants him to be more open and honest with other people - and himself. However, each time she's tried to confront him about it, Josh had taken it the wrong way. At this point, it's a mutual wary dislike of each other.
Emmett Metzger Emerson: All in all, Aelle and Emmett have a strange relationship. They are quite the opposite, but their personalities seem to balance each other out. Aelle knows that Emmett is the one who has his **** together and will rely on him for various things, such as breakfast, scheduling, and reminders. She finds his uptight, serious nature to be amusing, and will consistently try to make him act more flexibly. It's not quite a mutualistic relationship, but they have an unspoken pact to back each other up.
Kade Ethan Thomas: Aelle understands what Kade is trying to do: he has the band's best interest in mind and works hard to help them achieve their goals - however, he's such an easy target. She has no problem confronting him with a sarcastic tone and loves to play pranks on him alongside Ash and occasionally Tiff. Even so, she'll make sure to be a team player when it comes to the band, which is the only reason why Kade hasn't kicked her out yet.
Though it was bitter cold, Aelle thought it was the most perfect day for her audition. The clouds partly obscured the sun, but it was still bright outside, making the sky a moody grayish blue - somewhat mysterious, but full of promise. Aelle had made sure to dress for the weather: a chic, fitted dress with warm leggings, knee-high boots, and a thick jacket. As she walked down the busy streets downtown, her mind was buzzing with a thousand different thoughts: How many other people would be there to audition? Would they cut off the auditions before she got there? Should she have taken a taxi instead? What if her breakfast was too heavy? Maybe she should get another bottle of water? Was her outfit okay? Would they even notice? Will she get too nervous and clam up? What was she even going to sing?
These thoughts consumed her until she walked straight into the person in front of her. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going! Please forgive me - are you okay?" She continued babbling even after the person had rolled their eyes and walked off, ignoring her apology. Aelle let out a huge sigh and scurried off toward the huge building where a never-ending line of people were waiting for their audition.
It took a long time - four hours to be exact - until it was her time for a private audition. A woman with a clipboard called out her name, not even looking up from her work. Even so, Aelle flashed her a quick smile before walking inside the room. There were a couple of bored looking people inside, sitting at a table and chatting with each other. They didn't even spare Aelle a glance when she walked inside.
"Name, age, band position," ordered one of the women.
Aelle nodded quickly and walked to the center of the room, quickly straightening her dress before replying. "Yes. My name is Aelle Rivers and I'm 21 years old. I want to apply for lead singer," she said clearly and firmly.
The woman sniffed and wrote something down on the paper in front of her. "Anything special about you?" She gave Aelle a once-over glance, before turning her attention back to what she was writing.
Aelle stiffened her back slightly, before tilting her head in defiance. "I want this more than anything in the world. I'm going to make a name for myself in Ephemeral Summers - I promise!" She spoke even more loudly this time, irritating the judges in front of her.
The woman was still unimpressed with Aelle's declaration. She tucked her black hair behind her ear, giving Aelle a halfway smirk. "They all say that. Every single person that has stood where you are. You have to prove it to us." With that, the woman sat back in her chair and gestured to Aelle.
Fine then, Aelle thought to herself. Take this. And then, she simply sang. She let her voice express all her hopes, fears, passions, and dreams in every single note. If she couldn't tell the judges in words, Aelle was determined to show them everything that she was capable of. All her busy thoughts disappeared - all the background noise was gone, and all that she felt was music flowing through her veins. There was nothing that she loved more in this world, and Aelle poured her entire being into her performance.
"I knew that we’d become one right away
Oh, right away
At first sight I felt the energy of sun rays
I saw the life inside your eyes"
When she walked out of the room, Aelle was on cloud nine. She had left the judges in stunned silence, and she was proud of herself. At this point, even if she wasn't chosen to be in Ephemeral Summers, Aelle knew that she had done something to prove herself and to create a new name for herself. She was so tired of her identity being tied to her parents' success, and even if she failed, Aelle had given it her all. Whatever the future held for her, she was going to make it work - no, she was going to make it shine.
My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations.
And I can't stop till the whole word knows my name
'Cause I was only born inside my dreams
Until you die for me, as long as there is a light
My shadow is over you 'cause I am the opposite of amnesia

Name: Kade Ethan Thomas Nickname: None - if you try to Kade anything by his first or last name, there will be consequences. Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Age: 30 Birthday: December 14
Appearance: Norwegian and German descent | 6'3 height | 215 lbs | Dark brown hair | Blue-gray eyes | Lightly tanned skin
Kade easily stands 6'3 making him stand above others - quite literally - and he uses this to his advantage all the time. Due to being Ephemeral Summers' directing manager and the fact that his image reflects theirs, Kade's body is toned and muscular from regular workouts and morning jogs. He stands with an impeccable posture and broad stance, which can be quite intimidating (though this is his plan all along). All in all, Kade is not-so-secretly proud of his physical appearance and works hard to maintain this throughout the year.
Kade's dark brown hair becomes lighter under the sun, though his pale skin turns various shades of red - much to his dismay. He has rather straight, short hair but his bangs falls past his eyes if he doesn't meticulously gel them up. However, being in this music industry for years, no one has ever seen Kade with his bangs down. He has a strong jawline, a chiseled chin with a light stubble whenever he's too tired to shave it. Recognized for his dark eyebrows that bring out his eyes, Kade has dark forest green eyes that happen to be quite famous in the industry.
Kade is pretty up-to-date on the trends, though he pretty much wears a business casual attire all day long. He has a basic "uniform": some variation of a monochrome button down, crisp fitted pants, a sharp blazer, and neatly polished shoes. Once upon a blue moon, the band members will see him lounging around in t-shirt and jeans, though he would never be seen in public like that. He's usually seen with his prized Ray-Ban sunglasses and a trademark watch. Faceclaim: Aaron Tveit
Personality: Extroverted | Career-focused | Decisive | Short-tempered | Calculating | Innovative | Responsible
Kade is a people-person - in other words, a social butterfly. He has no problem mingling with others and plastering on his fake business smile for everyone. He's always thinking two steps ahead; each action that he makes is one part of his master plan. Around the band members, Kade is rather laid-back and will take on a more casual air around them. Unfortunately for them, Kade has a habit of springing things on people (or just his band-mates) without telling them too far in advance. This usually cause tension between them, but it's mainly for his own amusement.
Surprisingly, Kade is also a listener and he takes his role as a band therapist somewhat too seriously. He has no problems with forcing people to talk to him if he believes they feeling stressed or depressed - or if he suspects anything out of the ordinary. He's highly perceptive and intuitive in this way and can read people like a book. This is the main reason that Kade has come so far in the music industry, and he prizes this trait as most important to the band's success.
Kade has a hard time taking no for an answer and will shush people stating, "This was not a request." Additionally, he is very meticulous, making sure everything goes exactly his way. He has a plethora of various back-up plans for every possible action and reaction, and prides himself on having all contingencies in mind. Since he's fairly young for his job, he feels like he has something to prove to his superiors and will take unexpected, unconventional routes when he feels necessary. However, his stubbornness can also hinder and conflict with the band's overall interest.
Smart and cunning, Kade is able to lie and bull**** his way out of hard situations, which managed to save the band a few times. He is able to twist words and images to his liking, thus making him a force to be reckoned with. Even among his peers and superiors, Kade has quite the reputation for his forceful, yet very successful methods. He knows how to play with the media and gauge the audience's reaction in order to know what to do next. Kade takes his job very seriously and doesn't like defiance or anyone questioning his methods - Don't be fooled by his smiles and charms, he's just playing you. ✘ Likes:

Home Town: Kade was born in New York City, but currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Brief Bio:
Even from the beginning, Kade never had it easy. His father left them when he was three, and his mother had to work several jobs in order to provide for him and his younger sister, Hazel. They never had a lot of money when he was growing up, but Kade's mother made sure that he and Hazel had the best with what little they had. There were some days where there wasn't much to eat, and he had seen his mother cry when their only car had broken down before her shift. Even so, their family was close knit, and Kade was determined to make something of himself - if not to save his family from the slums.
He worked many different jobs on the side throughout junior high and all the way until he finished college. In doing so, Kade was able to build up connections to various people in different fields and businesses. All those who came into contact with him took note of his endless ambition, drive, and persistence. They all said that Kade would make something of himself one day, admiring his relentless attitude and determination. These connections were vital to his success, helping him get into college and land an internship with a nearby recording company on the side.
One of the main agents was Katrina, who took Kade on as a personal assistant once he graduated. She was able to get Kade into the door, so that he was able to get his start in the industry. Though he started at the bottom, Kade quickly climbed the ranks as he consistently proved his competence and innovative style. Katrina saw the best in Kade, nurturing his potential and becoming his mentor so that he could make it in the industry. She became good friends with him and his family and even helped his sister to get into a local arts college. Eventually, Kade would go on to surpass Katrina, but she always stood behind him, his greatest supporter.
Eventually, Kade got a job for Nova Entertainment when he was 26, and he moved out to Los Angeles for the job. Almost everyone doubted him when he first joined the company, mostly because of his age and seeming inexperience. As always, Kade quickly proved his older opponents wrong, and soon the higher-ups began to take notice of him. When he heard about the Ephemeral Summers project, Kade was one of the first to offer his support. It became a personal project of his, and he devoted quite a bit of his time to the planning, scheduling, and overseeing of the early stages. Nova Entertainment quickly singled Kade out as the person to be the band’s personal manager, which he quickly agreed to.
Soon enough, all the groundwork was set for the auditions and a main location in California was picked out for a home base. Kade was in charge of the media connections, early bookings, interviews, and more. Though he pulled a great number of all-nighters, he was in his element. He knew that Nova was watching him throughout the progress, and they were using this as a test run for his future career with him. For anyone else, this would be anxiety-provoking, but Kade took this as a personal challenge. Nothing was going to get in his way, because he was determined to make Ephemeral Summers a success. They were going to take the world by storm, and Kade was going to make sure of it.
Aelle Kaiya Rivers: Out of all the band members, Kade is most frustrated with Aelle. He understands her intentions, but she makes life a lot harder for him. In the end, he tries to ignore her antics as much as possible; however, this ends up as easy bait for Aelle instead. Besides Ash, Kade knows he needs to keep his eye out for Aelle since she can be so unpredictable. The only time he'll actually trust Aelle with anything is when it comes to Tiff.
Ash Nick-Mills: If Ash weren't so good with public appearances, Kade would have picked a different person for the band position. Every time the band goes out, Kade has to reign in Ash's promiscuous tendencies, as this can be a problem for the legal team. That being said, Ash is quite useful for tabloid gossip and is quite popular with the band's female fans. In the end, Kade is tolerant of Ash and his antics, because he knows the younger man is not only charismatic, but intelligent and good-hearted as well.
Nicole Alejandra García: Since she's the band's primary songwriter, Kade knows that Nicole is very valuable to the team. He utilizes her talents most often, because he knows she will consistently perform well. The only problem is her impulsive nature, especially since she rooms with Tiff. That being said, Kade thinks that Nicole is better at self-regulating, so he's less inclined to micro-manage her.
Tiffany Krystal Lee: Kade is on the fence about Tiff. On one hand, she's a damn good guitarist and beloved by the press in every interview due to her bubbly persona. However, her impulsive nature has many implications. In particular, Tiff can easily be roped into things by the other band members, particularly by Aelle and Ash. Out of all the band members, Kade sees Tiff as the most vulnerable, especially when she has her crying spells.
Amelia "Amy" Barkworth: Though they rarely interact, Kade likes Amy because of her easy-going personality. He trusts her to stay in line, since she won't touch drugs or alcohol, but he also values her ability to listen to other people. The only problem is that Amy has a tendency to shy away from the spotlight, so Kade is working on getting her to put on a more media-positive persona.
Joshua William Brown: Out of all the band members, Kade believes that Josh has the most potential to grow. Because of this, he has the tendency to push Josh more than the others, because Kade believes that Josh needs to break out of his comfort zone. However, this can cause Josh to bottle emotions until he lashes out, but Kade still thinks this is important for his growth. Though they have their disagreements, Kade has a secret soft spot for Josh and wants to help Josh become more comfortable with himself.
Emmett Metzger Emerson: Though he never voices it, Kade thinks Emmett is one of the best people on the band. Not only do they have similar opinions toward organization, they both set high standards for the rest of the band. Kade knows that Emmett will keep everyone else on task and will rely on him to keep the others in line. He greatly respects the younger drummer's endless drive and perfectionist attitude, and as such, Kade will tend to leave Emmett alone.

Kade was on his sixth espresso of the morning, as he gestured at an attendant to bring him another. Honestly, he needed the caffeine since he had been up the entire day working. Now, he was stuck in the small studio and forced to listen to potential band members that streamed in like an endless line of ants. The young girl in front of him was horrible - there wasn't a nicer way to put it. He didn't understand how she had gotten past the screening process.
He rubbed his temples momentarily, and then pushed his chair back from the table. The girl stopped mid-note, as if frightened of him. Good, he thought. She won't make it anyway. He turned to his coworkers next to him and gave them a brief nod. "I'm going to take a break for now." They all nodded back, and Kade made his way toward the exit in a few quick strides. Before he reached the door, he paused briefly. He almost said something to the girl, maybe to persuade her to stop embarrassing herself, but he shook his head and walked out.
On his way to the break room, Kade popped a few Advil to ease his growing headache and checked his phone. It had somehow accrued over 70 messages since he had last checked it. He was taking on a lot as band manager of Ephemeral Summers, but he needed this for his career. None of the seasoned pros had wanted to take on the position, but Kade was willing to play baby-sitter if it meant a good pay-off in the future.
All in all, he had a feeling about this band: a good one. He didn't usually have good feelings about these sorts of projects, but there was something special about this one. He hadn't been to all of the auditions, and even though most of them were duds, Kade had heard some real talent in there. It wouldn't be an easy task - to merge six different artists into one cohesive sound, but he was up for the challenge.
Sitting down at a table, there were several magazines scattered around, each of them talking about the Ephemeral Summers band. The media quickly latched onto the search, and it had quickly become easy fuel for every outlet: mainstream news, social media, tabloids, and reality television. One company had already offered a time-slot for a possible show based on the new band. Well, we actually need a band to begin with, he thought. This brought a small smirk to his face.
He ran his fingers through his hair unconsciously, completely lost in thought as he looked out the window. It wouldn't be easy to make it in the music industry - it was harsh and unforgiving. The band members would have to be tough, resilient and, of course, very talented. Most people didn't have it in them to push through everything, but if they could do it, if they could make it, Ephemeral Summers would be something unlike anything the world had seen so far. And he was going to get them there, no matter what it takes. Honestly, how hard could it be?
I only wanna die alive
Never by the hands of a broken heart
I don't wanna hear you lie tonight
Now that I've become who I really are
This is the part when I say I don't want ya
I'm stronger than I've been before
This is the part when I break free
Cause I can't resist it no more

Name: Tiffany Krystal Lee Nickname: Though she usually goes by Tiffany, some people call her Tiff. Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Age: 19 Birthday: March 26
Appearance: Korean descent | 5’4” height | 110 lbs | Black hair with a pink ombré | Light golden skin
Tiffany stands at a slightly below average height with a slender body to match. She has small almond-shaped chocolate brown eyes and thin pink lips. Her beloved naturally black wavy hair is seldom seen without some type of hair dye. Though she only used a safe caramel color in the past, Kade has encouraged her to get a bold pink ombré ever since she moved in with the band. On days when Tiffany wishes to impress, she tends to curl her hair into loose locks rather than straightening it. She’s generally light on makeup, but she almost never goes outside without at least doing her eyeliner and filling in her brows.
Her choice of clothing can be seen as girly to many. She owns an enormous collection of skirts and blouses to match, and she is picky about the quality. Tiffany would rather buy a higher-priced skirt that would last than a cheaper one that would fall apart within a year - but that might just be because she carelessly throws her entire load into the dryer after washing them every few weeks. When it’s cold, she uses a few pairs of jeans and a stylish, reliable winter coat.
Tiffany tends to appear laid-back most of the time because of her slow, carefree gait. However, the way she walks has also given her problems in her posture, causing her to constantly lean back ever so slightly and unknowingly put strain on her upper body. Faceclaim: Kim So-Eun
Personality: Bubbly | Scatterbrained | Intelligent | Emotional | Free-spirited | Energetic | Impractical
Tiffany is the type of person to make herself busy with whatever crosses her path, whether that be talking with the person next to her, piling up her schedule with numerous events, or practicing her guitar. She thrives in environments that require high energy and constant stimulation. People are usually surprised at the rate that she can connect with them in conversation, how she lights up the room with just a few words. In fact, some males misinterpret her bubbly attitude and tendency to touch others a lot while talking as signs of flirtatiousness, even if that is the last thing on her mind at the time.
Her high energy comes at a cost, to the point where it is difficult for her to focus on a single task for a long period of time. This has caused her problems with procrastination in the past, and it has led to a number of irrational, impulsive decisions with her money in particular. She has virtually no sense of planning, surviving mainly on improvisation based on the situation presented to her. It is extremely rare that she will think things through carefully to predict potential obstacles in her way.
Despite her issues with her work ethic, her raw intelligence helps her power through her academics. Tiffany was born with an acute mind that can easily remember facts if she puts even a little effort into what she does. She is a master at getting everything to work beautifully at the last possible second, much to the chagrin of her peers in group projects.
However, when things don’t go her way, Tiffany becomes easily stressed, turning on the waterworks and incessantly venting to the nearest person she can find. She will also ruminate when she shuts down like this, losing sleep from imagining a number of outlandish situations. Conflicts with others usually lead to her easily forgiving the other party but then placing blame on herself in some way.
Tiffany likes to think of herself as a free spirit, always longing for the ability to do what she wants when she wants. However, she is often at the mercy of her strict parents, who tie her down to a set path when she's around them, making her more miserable the longer she has to follow their rules. She wishes for a time when she can decide her own future and do what would simply make her happy. ❀ Likes:

Home Town: Tiffany was born and raised in Palo Alto, California. Brief Bio:
Tiffany was born as the only child to two Korean immigrants in the Bay Area. Her mother was a mechanical engineer, and her father was a computer programmer. With both parents holding lucrative careers, they both wished for Tiffany to follow in their footsteps. They spared no expense to enroll her in the best schools and sign her up for activities they thought would enrich her intellect.
However, it soon became clear that Tiffany didn’t necessarily think the same as her parents. She was able to excel in her academics, but she had little passion for related activities, instead becoming enchanted by the art of music. Her interest began when the family sat in on an open mic event and listened to someone jam on an electric guitar. Soon, she couldn’t stop thinking about getting one of her own - she became so obsessed that her parents relented and gave her a ukulele to play with for her sixth birthday. Unfortunately, she promptly broke all of its strings by pulling too tightly on the tuning knobs.
After that disaster, no one in the family spoke of the guitar for over two years. However, by this time her parents were already researching how people got into top colleges even though she was still only entering third grade. Naturally, they found out that those students usually weren’t solely focused on academics - the students also had passions that they pursued on the side. They brought up guitar lessons as a possibility to her, stressing that this would help her get into an Ivy League. She accepted, and her formal training began.
Tiffany’s teacher, Tony Lopez, started her on an acoustic guitar. Over the years, Tiffany learned the basic chords, then moved on to progressively more complex melodies and rhythms. Tony was an inspiration to her the entire time. While he openly admitted that he was not the most technically adept player especially after suffering from a hand injury a few years back, he put an insane level of passion and dedication into making sure that his students enjoyed the art.
At around the age of twelve, Tiffany’s pure skill was enough to convince her parents to add an electric guitar to her set. Through more lessons and practice, she began to prefer it, listening to numerous pop and rock songs with strong guitar leads for inspiration. Whenever friends from school would come over, they would beg Tiffany to play their favorite songs and sing along.
Despite her habit of extreme procrastination, Tiffany managed to achieve perfect grades in school, much to her parents’ satisfaction. She knew that to please them, she would apply to the best schools and major in computer science. Almost nobody had doubts that she’d be able to succeed. She was also extremely likable among her peers, having a large circle of friends even if she wasn’t in the popular crowd. Her skill with the guitar continued to skyrocket, and she became able to master difficult songs from multiple genres. Her smarts and her guitar eventually landed her in Stanford. Tiffany’s life seemed perfect at this point.
However, her first year in college instantly revealed that a career in computer science simply wasn’t for her. Tiffany hated how dry the subject seemed, and she couldn’t stand being around the hyper-competitive people in her major who constantly bragged about how little they had slept the night before. The idea of coding for the rest of her life began to become utterly repulsive to her. It seemed as if she was doomed to continue this dull path.
However, that’s when the opportunity for Nova Entertainment’s startup band caught her attention. Behind her parents’ back, she played her heart out at the nearest audition site, expecting little in return but enjoying the thrill of performing once again. By some twist of fate, Tiffany was accepted. Her parents naturally weren’t pleased when they found out, but it was already too late. As a result of her acceptance, she switched to an online college program to continue working towards her degree on a more flexible schedule. It was time for her to dive into the world of professional performance with five other talented musicians who would bring excitement to her life.
Aelle: Aelle is like an older sister Tiff never had. Tiff loves Aelle’s carefree and adventurous spirit, and they do just about everything together. Aelle is the best friend and confidant Tiff ever had. Sometimes she goes along with Aelle’s pranks, but she knows that she can always get ice cream no matter what the result.
Ash: Tiff appreciates Ash’s outgoing nature, and she really respects his confidence. They’ve been good friends so far. Ash introduces her to many new experiences and barely minds when Tiff makes a fool of herself - mostly because Ash probably makes a bigger fool of himself at the same time.
Nicole: As roommates, Nicole and Tiff tend to get along well enough. They almost always share stories of the day with each other and stay up late holding random conversations just as they’re about to sleep. However, Tiff often oversteps her boundaries with her mounds of unwashed laundry or a pen here or there, which definitely ends up annoying Nicole.
Amy: Tiff doesn’t know Amy too well mainly because Amy doesn’t hang around the others too much. However, she enjoys Amy’s company when she’s around, often encouraging her to go along with the group’s antics.
Josh: Tiff and Josh can hold a conversation and be pleasant enough. However, Josh stays far away when Tiff is with Aelle, which happens to be most of the time.
Emmett: Emmett is a weird case. They don’t talk too much, but Tiff wonders how he keeps so much structure in his life without getting bored. Regardless, she appreciates Emmett’s cooking and stays on his good side so that she’ll never lose access to the food.
Kade: Tiff has mixed feelings about Kade. On one hand, he isn’t afraid to encourage her to push her boundaries and try new things, such as dyeing her hair bold colors. However, Tiff fears the punishments that Kade could potentially give whenever the band members step out of line.
Tiffany hugged her cotton sweater closer to her body as she stepped off the Caltrain at the last stop. The constant San Francisco fog, a contrast to the rest of sunny California, always surprised her no matter how many times she visited the city. Even though it was actually warmer than most of the state in the winter, the gloomy weather still put a chill in her body. However, it was a necessary evil to deal with as she made her way with her guitar to the audition site.
In truth, Tiffany had no idea why she had paid attention to that YouTube ad a week ago and showed up to this audition. She was supposed to be at Stanford right now, studying for a test that was in two days. Just thinking about that exam made her want to gag. Her parents were completely oblivious of this trip too - after all, this wasn't something they'd have approved of in the first place. But hey, she was here now. It was time to just make the most of the moment.
After waiting in line for three hours and inadvertently skipping lunch, it was finally her turn. Tiffany said goodbye to the guy behind her, whom she had befriended as she was stuck in her place, before stepping into the room. There wasn't too much special about it, except for the fact that a table of judges was staring straight at her. It was clear that they were getting worn out by this point. If there was one thing Tiffany was glad about, it was that she didn't have to be in their position.
"Name, age, and band position?" asked one of the women blankly.
Tiffany took a deep breath before answering. "My name is Tiffany Lee, I'm eighteen years old - nineteen in March - and I'm auditioning to be the guitarist." Her eyes wandered over to a nearby amp that was waiting for a guitar to be plugged in. "Is this the amp I can use?" she asked before they could say anything else.
"Yes, that's correct," replied the same woman. "Anything special we should know about you?"
"Well, I'm currently majoring in Computer Science at Stanford," said Tiffany, deciding to tell the judges exactly what was on her mind. "But honestly, I just want to follow my passions and play my guitar. I'm thinking that this can be my opportunity to do so."
"We'll see about that," said the judge, her expression softening ever so slightly. "Get yourself set up and play your song."
Tiffany froze. Song? she thought, her face draining in color. Uh oh. She realized that she hadn't come up with what she was going to play in the entire time she was in line. She had told the guy behind her that she was still deciding on her song at the beginning of their conversation - but then she had never actually thought about it after that. "Oh yeah, that's right," said Tiffany with as much confidence as she could muster as she flashed a quick smile. "Gimme just a few seconds."
As Tiffany plugged in her guitar and tested the sound, her mind raced. What was the one guitar solo song that Tony really loved? Ahhhhh what was it? she thought. Dove Cliffs? No, that's not the name... It's- it's- CLIFFS OF DOVER! And just like that, the melody came back to her. She could remember it all now - every riff, every part where it was easy to slip up.
"All right, I'm ready," she announced, causing a few judges to look up for once.
And then she played. She took the opening riffs relatively slowly, taking time to pour every inch of personality into the notes. By the time she got to the first verse, she was completely in the zone. It was impossible to tell that she didn't even have an audition song just a few seconds ago. Tiffany couldn't help but notice the judges tapping their feet under the table, nodding along and jamming to her beat. She smiled in return, adding a little more pop to the accents.
By the time Tiffany was finished, every judge was gazing intently at her. After a short silence, they broke out in applause.
"Thanks for coming in today," said one of the judges, this time a striking young man who couldn't have been more than ten to fifteen years older than her. "You'll receive a letter in your email and home address if you get accepted. Have a good day."
"Hey, you too," replied Tiffany as she finished packing up her guitar. "Thanks for having me!"
She shook the hands of all five judges as she left the room glowing.

Name: Amelia Barkworth Nickname: Prefers going by Amy. Gender: Female Sexuality: Bisexual Age: 21 Birthday: September 28
Appearance: Amy stands at a typical 5 foot 4, which is somewhat of a sore spot for her, wishing she was a few inches taller. She works out regularly, keeping her body fit and trim, but also accentuates her larger than average rear. Her hair is dyed brown, her hair long since ruined from her teenage years of constantly dyeing and redyeing different colours. It goes down to her shoulders, and is often kept in a rough ponytail or under a beanie.
In regards to her face, it is largely hit and miss for Amy. She adores her brown eyes, that shine and seem to transition from a lighter, almost chocolate colour down to a darker, near black shade in the dark. Her nose is slightly crooked, and Amy refuses vehemently to correct it, saying that she will live with how she is, and will not change any of it to please anyone. Her teeth are bright and uniform, having had no dental issues in a long time.
Amy has never been one to explore modern fashions, choosing instead to wear clothes that are more comfortable and practical. Amy often wears tees and shirts, often hidden underneath cardigans and pullover hooded jumpers. For the bottom half, jeans are the usual pick, but tracksuit bottoms come out when Amy is not dressing up pretty for anyone. In the times when dressing formally is a necessity, Amy will wear a full tux, rather than be seen in a skirt or dress. Amy used to have piercings, but lack of use has led to them sealing up, but occasionally Amy will wear a single promise ring on her right hand. Amy is always found wearing a beanie whenever she can get away with it. Faceclaim: Jenna Coleman
Personality: Amy is most definitely not a people person. She can certainly put on a front for it, but internally she dislikes dealing with people. She is typically a pessimist, but also has the tendency to continue to push towards a goal, even if it is unreasonable or a lot of work for little reward. Due to her workaholic nature, Amy can often forget about her own needs, and often needs someone else to remind her to take breaks, eat and even sleep.
Amy generally is incredibly passive when it comes to dealing with individual people, never giving more information that she needs to. She never really maintains grudges or beef with people, just shrugging and continuing on with her life. Despite this front she puts up, Amy does desire friends, but is afraid of people learning of the things she has done. In reality, taking such a large step like this took a large amount of courage and bravery on her part to do, and is riding on the emotions. It is a near inevitability that she will eventually crash, the emotions catching up to her.
When dealing with somebody she can actually open up with, Amy is a pleasant and snarky girl. She doesn't hesitate to state things how they are, and can often hurt feelings with her blunt logic. When she eventually notices these things however, she will become nothing but apologies, with a high chance of bursting into tears. Amy tries to keep up a stoic facade, sometimes even coming off as aloof, but can break under enough pressure.
Amy is additionally a good listener, willing to listen to people venting out problems, even if she cannot do anything about them. However, often after these Amy will find herself trying to do something, even if it is completely impractical or irrelevant to the situation. Amy gives 110% of herself to make her friends feel better about themselves, but doesn't do the same for herself.
One thing Amelia vehemently dislikes is people who remind her of her, which is typically people who are addicted to substances, whether that be drugs or alcohol. Amelia isn't allowed to drink addictive substances, but will actively go out of her way to tell others not to as well. Likes:
Reading, especially old horror novels.
Watching movies, especially animated films. Habits:
Constantly fiddles with something.
Has a strict sleep schedule.
Pulls her hat over her ears if she did something wrong. Fears and Dislikes:
Dislikes addictive substances, such as coffee, alcohol and drugs.
Fear of snakes.
Fears falling back into her old habits.
Home Town: Amelia was born in Layton, Blackpool. Amy currently resides in Phoenix. Brief Bio:
Amelia Barkworth was born to a poor family of three in Layton, a district of Blackpool. Her father, one Jeremy Barkworth, was a electrician who was self-employed. Her mother, Clara Barkworth, worked as a bartender at the local pub. Amelia was the middle of three siblings; an older brother, Samuel, and a younger sister, Brodie. While they didn't have much in the way of money, they were happy and a close-knit family unit.
The early years of Amelia's life were relatively standard, while she was no straight 'A' student, she didn't struggle with any classes. If there was any class she truly excelled in, it was French. Whether it was the teaching style, or the students, something attracted her to it like nothing else did before. Her family were ecstatic as one would expect, dreams forming in their minds of futures available to Amelia; a translator, or an international teacher. The possibilities rose. However, this was where the first problems occurred.
Amelia moved away to Lincoln University to study how to become a teacher, with a specialisation in French. While it would be the furthest that she has lived away from her family, they all unanimously agreed that the opportunity was too good to let go for their sake. With the typical teary farewells, Amelia moved into a shared apartment near the university. Amelia had been on a forum that existed to help students with accommodation, and found an apartment that would be split three ways. She agreed, and when she arrived she finally met the two people she would be rooming with. Faye Blackmoor was a music major, whose specialty was the guitar. The other roommate was Zehra Mahmood, a Turkish international student who was studying Electrical Engineering. For the beginning, things were good.
While the bond between the three was growing as one would expect from roommates, the bond between Faye and Amy was growing beyond anybody's expectations. Amy was drawn to Faye like a moth to flame; even picking up the bass to play alongside Faye's guitar. Dreams shifted slightly, while Amy still wanted to become a French teacher, she now wished to perform alongside Faye, to play the music she felt inside herself. But these good things couldn't last, as nearly six months later, tragedy struck.
Zehra was coming back later and later, and it was worrying Faye and Amelia. They showed concern, asking if they could help her, but they both knew that nothing was going to change. In one such attempt, Amelia decided to go with Zehra, to see what she was doing, presuming it was some guys place, and they were just getting it on with a bit of booze. What she found couldn't have been further from the truth. When she arrived at a group of teens, some barely hitting puberty, sat under a bridge doing drugs, she was horrified. Unfortunately, Zehra roped her into it, and before she knew it she was addicted.
Her grades plummeted, her friendships fractured. She turned inward, constantly changing the colours of her hair with dyes, even though money was always tight, due to her need for fixes. Her family tried to be supportive however they could, but Amelia kept pushing them away. The only person she couldn't push away was Faye. She would sit with her when Amelia had her withdrawals, and play her guitar and softly sing her to sleep, the lullabies that they wrote together, songs ingrained into Amy's mind from night after sleepless night of practice. In time, Amelia realised that she liked her, but before she knew it, her years of education were done, and she moved on to greener pastures. Amelia was crushed. She was alone again, and she hated it, the silence that was left.
She resolved to become someone greater than herself in that moment. She went and sought out help for the addictions, and took up the bass with a newfound conviction. She swore that she would become somebody that Faye would be proud of. She continued to play the bass guitar, practicing and practicing until her fingers bled and the movements were ingrained in her mind.. She moved to America, a blank slate for her to start again. Two years she spent studying that music, the music Faye left in her heart, and when she heard of Nova worked up the courage to participate. Her family supported the moves, saying she was finally looking up again. She would become somebody Faye would be proud of, somebody she could be proud of.
Aelle Kaiya Rivers: Amy puts up with Aelle's shenanigans partially because they are roommates but also because that she reminds her of Faye slightly. Aelle's optimism is a good counter to Amy's pessimism, and Amy appreciates her constant attempts to make her open up, even if she doesn't admit it.
Ash Nick-Mills: Amy doesn't have a problem with Ash at all regarding his personality and lifestyle, but dislikes his open tendencies for alcohol, and shies away from him for that reason.
Nicole Alejandra García: Amy dislikes the feeling of fakeness regarding Nicole's positivity and kindness towards her, seeing it as a façade. As a result of this, Amy maintains a coolly professional tone with her when they are together and forced to interact, and doesn't speak with her when they don't need to.
Tiffany Krystal Lee: While Tiffany's high energy bursts irritate Amy to some degree, in regards to her personality, Amy has zero complaints. Amy would happily spend time with Tiffany, and even with Aelle and their shenanigans together, Amy can at least smile and nod along, even helping sometimes, which is altogether out of character for her.
Joshua William Brown: Similar in some regards to Nicole, Amy perceives his caring nature to be a mask to cover his judging of her, for whatever reasons her mind cooks up. She sees his sideways glances as judging, and tries to stay away from him as much as she can.
Emmett M. Emerson: Amy respects Emmett's dedication to his craft, mirroring her own, and can comfortably sit and practice with him in the studio. In regular conversation, Amy is fine around him, and has no issues with him, but also doesn't have any additional investment in him.
Kade Ethan Thomas: Amy toes a respectful line with Kade, knowing that he could boot her out the band at any point for whatever he really wants. Amy gives a healthy amount of respect for him, and will do as he says, but will question instructions if they do not make sense or is against her morals.
It was too warm and crowded for Amy, as she sat in the waiting room for her turn. She had been lucky enough to get this interview on a weekend, which gave her plenty of time to get everything prepared. As she sat here, however, and watched the other participants go into the enclosed room, and walk out again, the plans and ideas in her head slowly turned from her plans to plain worrying. "What if this was a mistake? I could've got another shift at Marco's this weekend, but instead I'm here."
Amy sighed gustily as a ginger gentleman passed her seat, a number 49 clipped to the bottom of his shirt. Looking down at her own number badge, the black printed font of number 50 glared back up at her. She dropped it, letting it fall back against her suit jacket. Her hands began to wring, as the supervisor called for number 50.
Walking into the room, it was significantly cooler than the waiting room. The lights were dimmed somewhat, casting a gentle light over the panel of judges; two females and one male in the center. He looked down at the clipboard in front of him, then back up at Amy as she walked over to the small taped 'x' on the floor. "Alright, name, age, and band position please." The man flashed a grin at Amy that had her smiling slightly in response. This guy was good.
"My name is Amelia Barkworth, 21 years old, and I'm a bassist." The man ticked some boxes on his sheet, while the two women glanced at each other, evidently preemptively judging her based on appearance. Amy rolled her eyes, some people can never be pleased.
The male looked up again. "Tell me Miss Barkworth, what do you have that makes you stand out? Why should you get to join over everyone outside?" Amy wrung her hands behind her back, tapping the tips of her fingers against each other rhythmically.
Taking a second to mull over the question and compose herself, Amy began to speak. "Two years ago, I made a promise to myself that I would make somebody who forgot I even existed proud. I will do anything it takes to let her see me and be proud again." The male nodded and made some notes on the clipboard, while the two women looked at their own nails. They gestured for her to begin. She plugged in her bass, tuning it appropriately, before giving what may be the most important song of her life. Naturally, she chose a song Faye was working on. Her fingers naturally followed the song she has down to muscle memory, dozens of nights of sitting alone practicing for someone beyond just her.
"So summon me now, I want you to know
I’ve got your back, wherever you go
The look in your eyes - I understand you -
Cause we are in deadlock and nothing breaks through
We know all the things that they’ll never learn
And we’ve seen so much that they’ll never see
Cause we are so strong, more than they can be
A hero to them, a legend to me
A legend to me"
Truthfully, Amy remembered very little about what occurred afterwards. She left with naught but her bass on her back and a business card telling her that they'd get back in contact with her within two working weeks. She hoped that, when she put her heart on the line, it wasn't left on the pavement. She needed this. She couldn't let her down. Not again.
Your meters may overload
You can rest at the side of the road
You can miss a stride
But nobody gets a free ride

Appearance: German and English descent | 6'0'' | Brown hair | Pale skin Emmett towers above most at a height of 6 feet, but isn't particularly muscular. In fact, he's pretty skinny and has arms that seem a little above-average in length. He's got a mess of medium-length hair on his head that he likes to keep clean, but doesn't really bother to style at all. His soft brown eyes are sunk a bit into his skull, accentuating his nose and making it seem a little wider. Overall, he's a pretty handsome fellow.
Emmett, when it comes to clothes, doesn't really give two hoots about what's popular or "hip". He wears whatever is comfortable to him. This can range anywhere from his favorite brown jacket that is kept meticulously clean and jeans to sweatpants and a plain T-shirt. He isn't afraid to dress up, though. If there's an important purpose to the occasion (such as meeting with a label executive), you can bet that Emmett's going to find the nicest clothes he can to impress.
Personality: Introverted | Friendly, but Direct | Logical | Workaholic/Perfectionist | Has Integrity Emmett is, all in all, a lone wolf. He prefers working by himself instead of trusting a job to someone he doesn't respect. He meticulously keeps himself organized and his mind sharp, and prefers using that mind to plan instead of improvise or follow instinct. Even his "improvised" drum solos are rehearsed again and again pre-concert to ensure that everything is up to his standards.
Speaking of his standards, Emmett holds himself and those around him to some particularly high ones. Although he doesn't really get angry like some other people do, people who continuously fall behind what he wants and don't show any desire to improve grind his gears like nothing else. In his mind, a group is only as strong as the weakest link. It is to meet these standards for himself that Emmett works with such fervor; he will gladly pull an all-nighter or even cancel a scheduled vacation if it means perfecting that solo or putting the finishing touches on a song. Emmett also is a fervent follower of the idea that "honesty is the best policy". He does his best to never lie to people, even those white lies that might keep someone's feelings from being hurt. In turn, he expects honestly from those around him and is frustrated if they disappoint in this regard.
That being said, Emmett isn't callous. Towards friends and acquaintances, he takes on a "cooly pleasant" persona, and is more than happy to keep friendly conversation. In fact, he makes sure to get together with friends on a semi-regular basis to keep himself from burning out. He just isn't really an outgoing kind of person.
Likes: - Emmett loves to cook for friends and family when he isn't working. He likes making just about anything in the kitchen that isn't alcohol, from drinks like coffee and hot chocolate to casseroles and stir-frys. - Emmett has a passion for drumming. He can spend an entire day, sunrise to sunset, in the studio practicing without even realizing it. He loves playing drumset in particular, but also loves playing Latin and African drums like the bongos and djembe when he gets a chance. - As far as food goes, Emmett isn't too picky. But he especially loves hot chocolate and chili. - Emmett loves cold weather and isn't too fond of hot weather, unless the humidity is bearable. He likes keeping his room cold at night, even in winter. - Although Emmett isn't a hardcore sports fan, his favorite sport to watch and play is basketball. His favorite teams are the Minnesota Lynx and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Habits: - Often taps fingers/hands on table or self in rhythm when bored - Tends to not meet people's eyes when speaking to them - Keeps an agenda book on his person at all times even when bathing
Fears and Dislikes: - Although Emmett doesn't have any phobias in the traditional sense, his biggest fear is missing an opportunity that he should have taken and it having, as he would say, "dire consequences". - Emmett has a bad tendency to get frustrated with people's vices, like dishonesty and not following through on a promise. Especially not following through with a promise. If someone isn't doing what they're supposed to be doing on a project or a job, Emmett gets angry really quickly. - Emmett doesn't like being lied to. He'd rather be told the hard truth than have someone soften the blow with fluffy words. He'll often considerately ask people mid-sentence or mid-thought to "kindly get to the point".
Home Town:Born, raised, and currently residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota Brief Bio:Em was born in Minneapolis to Eddie and Julia Emerson. He grew up in a pretty quiet suburb just outside of the city, where he lived in peace with his family and Abby, his younger sister. Despite their quiet neighborhood, home life for Emmett was a bit chaotic. His father worked in the Air Force and was deployed in Japan for most of the year, leaving his mother (who was a teacher at the local middle elementary school) to keep track of two kids.
Emmett stepped up when he was 9 or so as "the man of the house", as his mother said, and helped her out any way he could; taking the trash out, playing with Abby when his mother needed to work, and even cooking meals once in a while. Although most kids his age would have loathed having chores like that every day of their life (oh, the horror!), Emmett didn't mind. School wasn't very entertaining, and he didn't really have any friends to hang out with after school, so Emmett loved the chance to have some fun at home with his mom. If his dad happened to be home, that was just the cherry on top.
Speaking of which, although Emmett got good grades in school (high B's to high A's), he didn't have any friends outside of a few close ones. It wasn't that he got picked on or anything - keep in mind, he was always a pretty tall guy - he just wasn't much of a conversationalist, and didn't have too many interests in common with other kids his age besides peewee basketball. Eventually, as Emmett got into middle school, his mother got worried that he wasn't really being pushed to his full potential. So, on a whim, she signed him up for a month of drum lessons at a local collective. Just to give it a shot. Besides, Mr. Emerson had been moved to reserves, so Abby wouldn't have to get dragged to lessons every week as well.
As it turned out, Emmett loved drums. His teacher was excellent and knew what he was talking about, and Emmett dove whole-heartedly into the world of music. He signed up for band and chorus at school and his dad pushed him to practice every day. At first, Emmett was against it. Practicing could be kind of dull sometimes, after all. But, after a while, Emmett realized he was getting good from practicing.
So, he kept at it through middle school and high school. By senior year, he was performing regularly with a group of friends from the music lessons in an alt-rock original/cover band called the "White Bear Radio Squad". He got into the University of Minnesota majoring in Music and Business and continued performing throughout college while studying diligently and getting good grades.
Emmett heard about the Nova competition through the grapevine at his studio. He decided that if he was going to try and audition, he was going to put everything he had into it. He decided that he would audition with Dream Theater's "The Dance Of Eternity" - a song with 104 time signature changes known for its difficulty.
Long story short, he pulled it off to his standards. And apparently to the judges' standards too; he got an e-mail a few short weeks later saying he was accepted into the band. Nova would pay for his transportation to Los Angeles and for a new kit. Excited about what awaited him, he broke the news to his parents and worked out how to finish his senior year of college.
Joshua William Brown: Emmett and Josh don't talk too terribly much, but they're on good terms. The main reason they don't interact has to do with their shared shyness; both are rather introverted and prefer to keep to themselves. Combine that with little common ground as of living together for a few weeks, and you have a recipie for a bit of a stagnant relationship.
Ash Nick-Mills: Ash kind of frustrates Emmett. He doesn't like how reckless and extravagant he comes across as. He doesn't hate him, though; Emmett really respects how quickly Ash can build up a cult of personality and how he can establish rapport with just about anybody. Emmett's willing to work with him and understand/respect him.
Amelia "Amy" Barkworth: Emmett has a lot of respect for Amy. As a performing drummer, he understands how important it is to lock in with the bass, and is glad that Amy is willing to work to get to that point. He's happy to make conversation with her, but feels like she's hiding something. Although Emmett would prefer her to be forward about her problems (for efficiency's sake), he gets the feeling that she's going to need time before she can get it off her chest.
Tiffany Krystal Lee: She's nice enough, and Emmett's glad someone like her is around to help keep Ash company. Although her scatterbrained disorganization irks him to no end, he respects her skill at guitar and her ability to always be her own person.
Kade Ethan Thomas: Emmett has a lot of respect for Kade (or, "Mr. Thomas", as Emmett prefers to call him) as the band manager and prefers to stay on his good side. Although Kade's much better at people skills than he is, Emmett is happy to have another person around that shares his work ethic and drive. He regularly asks Kade for advice on improving himself/the band and about working in the music industry as a whole.
Aelle Kaiya Rivers: Aelle is...interesting, all right. With a penchant for disorganization like Tiff, Aelle has started to rely on him for scheduling and organization within the group, which has (sort of) surprised him. What absolutely surprises him is how much she doesn't irritate him; more often than not, he finds her organizational ineptitude charming, or entertaining at the very least. Nevertheless, he respects her drive and her adventurous nature - even if she tries to drag him into things he wants no part of.
Nicole Alejandra García: Despite having no quarrels with each other, Emmett and Nicole don't really speak much. At least, not yet. He's been hoping to talk to her about songwriting for a little while now, but hasn't gotten around to it. He greatly values her expertise and is looking forward to working with her.
It was a chilly day in Minneapolis. Emmett stood in line, drumset sticks in hand. He checked his phone. 10:00. It's been a couple of hours since they started. They must have gotten more than they expected.
Emmett sighed as he ran through his audition song a few more times in his head. If he pulled this off, it'd definitely give the judges something to talk about. "The Dance Of Eternity" was one of the hardest songs he had ever learned, and it had been even more difficult to memorize. Emmett knew that he could do it...he just wasn't sure how well. He'd been practicing hard for a month, but-
"Hey, kid." A man's voice said. Emmett snapped out of his trace and looked around. He was at the front of the line! "O-Oh." Emmett said quietly, a bit embarassed. "Pardon. The judges are inside?"
"Yep. Just follow the signs."
Emmett entered a small room. There were a few judges inside, sitting in front of a nice Pearl kit with a sound shield set up. One of them held up a clipboard.
"Name?" "Emmett Emerson."
"Auditioning for...drummer, I suppose?" "Yes, ma'am."
"Take a seat."
Emmett walked over to the kit and sat down. He took a moment to look it over and adjust it a bit. It was nice, and a lot like his own kit at home. Double kick, three toms, four symbals, snare drum. He typically only ran two or three at home, but this would definitely do.
Meanwhile, the judge had sat down, taking down some information onto the clipboard.
"And what makes you think you've got what it takes to be in Ephemeral Summers?"
Emmett nodded, taking a moment to think. "Well...I've been playing drums since I was 11 or so. I pride myself on my good technique and work ethic. I've been practicing every day for two months to prepare for this, so I certainly hope you're impressed."
"...Work ethic, huh?" "Yes, ma'am. Practicing is just part of my daily routine at this point. I spend 45 minutes a day practicing, minimum. I take great pride in trying to be as good as I can."
"...Fair enough. What'll you be auditioning with today?" "'The Dance Of Eternity' by Dream Theater."
One of the judges had taken a sip of water. He almost spit it out when he heard that.
"I'm sorry, I think I misheard...did you say 'The Dance Of Eternity'? We're thinking of the same one, right?" "The same, sir. 104 time signature changes. But I've cut it down a bit to stay within your time limit."
"Kid, you're crazy. You sure you want to audition with that?" "I aim to impress, sir."
The judge chuckled and turned to the others.
"If he pulls this off, you're in for a treat."
The judge with the clipboard rolled her eyes.
"Whenever you're ready."
Emmett had plugged his phone into an amplifier and put on headphones for the backing track. He put everything out of his mind as the intro instrumental played. Focus on the music, as always. He silently reminded himself. As your teacher says: make them unable to take their eyes off of you.
Emmett hit the attack flawlessly and rocketed into the song. He counted in his head, hands flying around the drum as he hit every solo with the precision of a surgeon. That weird time change...perfect. A little stick trick here...good, good.
For three and a half minutes (four was the maximum time that the judges had allotted for performance; he had cut down the song a bit during practice) he fired on all cylinders. Stay in the pocket...1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1... As his excerpt ended, Emmett hit maximum speed. He flew around the drums and cymbals in a final solo that he had written himself. With the spirit of the song, he changed time signatures as well, from 4/4 into 3/4 into 12/3 and back into 4/4.
With a final downbeat, he ended his rehearsal. His emotionless mask that he had put on for the duration of the song came off, and he gave a soft smile to the judges. It was a bit of a façade; he knew he had flubbed a small part in the middle of the song and was a bit disappointed - he had tried to work that out in practice - but was happy with himself overall. As he got up to leave, the second judge that had spoken stood up.
"Emerson." "Yes, sir?"
"Off the record...that was impressive kid. Even if you don't make it into the band, I think you're going places."
Emmett smiled again. "Thank you, sir. As I said before, I aim to impress."

Name: Joshua William Brown Nickname: Joshua is usually just called 'Josh' by the people close to him, he doesn't mind anyone using either Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Age: 21 Birthday: November 29th
Appearance: Joshua is short compared to everyone else his age, standing at a height of 5 foot 3 which others tease him for all the time, but he doesn't seem to mind his shorter-then-average height all that much. Joshua is of an average build, nothing overly muscular, but not skinny or chubby either, he's what's considered at least healthy for someone of his height. His medium length black hair usually seems to have a mind of it's own, and stubbornly stands on end no matter how much it's combed or brushed down, to the point where Joshua gave up and simply starting styling his hair to be an up-do to match hair that stands up, just so it looks consistent and presentable.
In regards to his facial features, Joshua first notable trait is his bright blue eyes that at times he resents having due to them drawing so much attention from others due to how colorful and accentuated they are in comparison to the dark color of his hair and eyebrows. His eye's are only slightly sunken into his head, giving his nose a more hourglass shape. His teeth are a perfect, pearly white, but he currently still has a metal retainer on the inside of his mouth on his bottom row of teeth from having gotten braces only a few years prior, but the deadline for it to be removed is only a few months away.
His fashion sense is in no way influenced by popular trends, or even set styles known. Instead, like most people he know's, Joshua goes for comfort as apposed to stylish and is often seen walking around in graphic-tees and sweaters that depict some of his favorite games, shows, and even bands. He doesn't only own clothing with brands and graphics on them however, he makes sure he also has a supply of regular clothing such as plain shirts, jackets and sweaters in case he is going somewhere that his usual choice of clothing has no place being there. Additionally, Joshua has no complaint dressing to impress, and carries fancy clothing of his own in case he must attend some kind of event that requires, or is implied to require, fancier clothing. Faceclaim: Christian Collins
Personality: Despite being majorly introverted, and sometimes struggling to communicate with other people outside his circle of friends, Joshua is the kind of person that has an easier time then most figuring out the people placed before him, although it still takes him time to do so, he is able to pick up on quirks and traits that they may have, even in cases where they may try to hide them behind a facade. Due to being able to figure people out faster then most, he has an easy time keeping around the kinds of people he believes he'll get along with the best. But despite this trait even he makes mistakes with his judgments of others, and these kinds of mistakes often lead him to either befriending the wrong person and getting hurt or being manipulated, or avoiding and disliking someone he'd in actuality get along swimmingly with if simply given a chance.
Joshua is an incredibly caring individual, and looks out for the people he is closest to, putting his ability to read others easily to good use to figure out how his friends and companions are feeling so he can hopefully assist them with their problems should they ever come to him for assistance. He's grandly optimistic about the people he cares for, believing that his friends can undoubtedly be better if they feel they need to be simply by putting their minds to it and give their all into trying. Around his friends, and others he's close to, Joshua is a rather quiet individual but still manages to be friendly and approachable. If one of his friends comes to him to start a conversation he will be quick to continue talking with them for as long as they want to talk, or simply be silent besides them if that's what they desire.
He's also a heavy hands-on learner. He without question learns new things the best when he is placed in front of things and given free will to try it out after being given a general idea of what he's dealing with. Due to this, he struggles heavily with being taught information and subjects by word of mouth or simply reading it through text and as such has troubles with certain subjects that he is unable to learn the way he does best, leading to him sometimes getting in trouble with others because he is barely able to learn like most are able to. His ability to learn hands-on is why he quickly grew attached to the things he loves today such as video games and music, as both are activities that is entirely possible for somebody to learn to do efficiently without any need of learning outside of hands-on.
Despite being so caring for those around him, Joshua struggles with taking care of himself and his emotions, and instead of talking about any negative feelings he may have and sharing them in the open, he bottles them up and hides them away from everybody and instead vents his emotions on his own whenever he can through the things he loves like playing music and video games. And while at first it seems to be a solution that works, with time, all the emotions he hides away build up to a point where they can't be contained anymore and he either lashes out at the nearest outsource, or simply explodes with what he's feeling and leans on the nearest person and lets out what's going on, only to later try and pretend that it never happened. In a heavy sense of irony, Joshua is quick to pick apart when others do this, and discourages them from doing so when their emotions are building up far to high to be contained anymore and offers to listen to their struggles, yet continues to do this himself as he doesn't want to burden those around him with his own troubles. Sometimes, Joshua needs to be reminded by the friends around him that it's okay to share his problems and talk them out, and that like when he's there for them, they'll also be there for him in his times of need.
Hands-on learning/learning in the moment Habits:
Hums themes and tunes of favorite shows and games while calm or distracted
Tends to scan his friend's facial expressions and body languages in attempts to understand them better
When under more stress then usual, he can be found playing more games or music then usual Fears and Dislikes:
Lashing out at others with his own emotions
Being taught things through words or text
Home Town: Born and raised in Canada, Alberta but is currently residing in New York City, New York
Brief Bio: Joshua was born in the province of Alberta, Canada to one Christopher Brown who was a decently known lawyer, and Nicole Brown who was a counselor, as an only child. With both his parents holding such prestigious jobs, they had to sadly leave Joshua on his own growing up while they were out working. Despite this, the family was fairly happy together, with only the rare outburst or arguments making their way through.
Throughout his early years of life, Joshua lived his life without much variance to anybody else around him. He went to school like his fellow students, and passed his classes like one as well never being much of a grade 'A' student in the forms of his intelligence. He mostly keeping to himself throughout school, and while he did have a few companions they were never close enough for Joshua to actually call them 'friends.'
He didn't have his first experience with a musical instrument until the time he was halfway through his middle school years. During this time, Joshua's parents were still away for most of his life, and as such had to hire babysitters to watch over their son while they were away for an undetermined amount of time. One such babysitter, Katherine Lewis, was both an aspiring musician and learning to be a music teacher. On one visit to watch over Joshua, Katherine brought over the keyboard she owned in an attempt to gain more practice while doing her babysitting job. As she was playing, she was quick to notice Joshua's quickly growing interest in the instrument and the music she was playing, and with a smile Katherine was quick to invite Joshua to come and sit with her so he could get a closer look at what she was doing, and so that maybe she could teach him how to play.
Steadily, this became a common encounter for the two of them whenever Katherine came over to babysit Joshua. She'd bring over her keyboard, and Joshua would sit beside her and either watch her play or take lessons from her and begin trying to play himself. And while Katherine had tried to bring over other instruments for Joshua to try out, they never seemed to catch his interest as much as the keyboard did, so soon enough that was the only instrument she'd bring over while babysitting. And to both of their surprise, Joshua took to the keyboard like a fish to water, and was fast to pick up the basics with only minor intervention and explanation on Katherine's part. It was during these sessions that Joshua picked up his passion for music, and where both he and Katherine learned that Joshua was a better hands-on learner then anything else, as whenever she tried to explain anything to him for an extended amount of time, Joshua would either lose interest, or wouldn't understand.
When his parents found out about his passion for music, and his superb skill on the keyboard, they were quick to support his hobby and bought him his own keyboard, so that Katherine could teach Joshua and practice herself at the same time as opposed to the two taking turns with one keyboard.
Time passed by for Joshua quickly, and soon enough he was within his last year of high school. During this time he was still learning with Katherine whenever they could get together, even though she no longer babysat him, and was passing school with the intent of following her footsteps of making his own music career.
Graduating high school, Joshua prepared for a tearful goodbye with his parents and Katherine as he was getting ready to leave for America, as he believed that he'd find better opportunities for music there then at home, and additionally would be a way of starting anew once again. After the goodbyes with his parents, he went off to see Katherine. For the most part, the goodbye between them was as tearful as could be imagined, but just as he was going to leave, Katherine made Joshua promise something to her. He promised that after he finished college in America, and done the best he could while there, that he'd come back home and play together with her. He was only all to happy to agree to this promise, and with a final goodbye, was off on his way to New York City, to enroll in Juilliard School.
It was during his final year of college that Joshua caught wind of Nova Entertainment's auditions for band members. And, with the remembrance of his promise to Katherine to do the best he could while in America, Joshua decided to set out for Minneapolis to try out for the band position because after all, he figured, what better way to do his best then to participate in a band, with this he'd be able to make both his parents and his old friend proud. Relationships:
Aelle Kaiya Rivers: Joshua doesn't hate Aelle, far from it, he's just not comfortable in her presence because of all the issues the two seem to have whenever they're together. He's not pleased with all the sarcasm, and petty remarks she makes around him whenever he tries to talk to her. So instead of trying to fix their issue, Josh does his best to avoid her when he can, and avoid the potential confrontation she brings.
Ash Nick-Mills: Joshua is on friendly terms with Ash, and doesn't mind hanging around him. In his eyes, the two of them are at least acquaintances, and Joshua has no problem starting and continuing conversations with him. He admires Ash's ability to adapt to almost any social situation, and make friends as easily as he does, but struggles to keep up with the constant high-paced way Ash lives.
Nicole Alejandra Garcia: Joshua and Nicole bonded over their fellow caring attitudes towards others, as well as their shared love of the forms of art. During the times they hang out together, Joshua has a lot of fun, and she's easily one of his favorite people on the band. And although he swears he never will, he's admitted to himself that if he were to ever vent and truly open up to anyone for the first time, it'd be Nicole.
Tiffany Krystal Lee: To put it simply, Joshua doesn't hang out with Tiffany much. Although he believes he'll get along with her swimmingly, and things like her bubbly personality and scatterbrained attitude draw him to her, he keeps his distance from her. The reasoning for this is that he recognizes that wherever Tiff is, Aelle isn't far behind, and when Aelle is around him it usually spells trouble for Joshua so he's wary around her.
Amelia "Amy" Barkworth: Joshua, like Aelle, avoids Amy as much as he physically can, in fact more so then Aelle. While Josh doesn't dislike Amy, he's scared off by her coldness towards him for what seems like no reason, and constantly assumes that some kind of fight could break out any second between him and her. So, in an attempt to avoid that fight breaking out, he tries to steer clear of her as best he can, even if there's something nagging at him that maybe Amy isn't all she seems on the outside, causing him to make side glances at her.
Emmett Metzger Emerson: Joshua doesn't interact with Emmett much outside of band stuff, not because he doesn't like the guy, but simply because he isn't fully sure how to approach him. But in the times the two do interact, Joshua remains on friendly terms with him.
Kade Ethan Thomas: Although he swears he'll never admit it, Joshua is slightly intimidated of Kade. With him quite literally being in charge of Joshua and his position in the band, Josh does his best to make sure he doesn't cause the man any troubles, and does all the things he requests without much question. Even if it seems like he makes Josh do more then the others, and doing all of it causes him stress. He also swore to himself that he would never lash out at his manager, in fear of his future in the band.
Other: Other then hoping that this form isn't too long, or sloppy. Nothing to note here
While a lot of people here for this auditioning were complaining about the cold today, Joshua felt at home with it, and it did wonders to calm him down from the mental emotional roller coaster he was going on right now. All the people that were around him weren't exactly helping his case either, especially not when some stared at him or made attempts to start conversations. Still, even if he felt like he might drown in all this interaction, he wasn't going to be so rude as to deny people a simple bit of talking with him, he could manage it, just a few more minutes now and he'd be next into this audition to show the judges inside his stuff. There's a lot of people here at this thing. Guess I'm not the only one that wanted to give this band thing a shot, although I'm pretty sure most people here are here more for the money and fame then actually wanting to participate in a band.
With another scan around him, Joshua was able to pick out a few people he noticed that seemed way to cocky about this, as if they were absolutely certain that their spot in this thing was guaranteed, especially if their arrogant grins were anything to go by. And as the line moved, Joshua couldn't help but feel bad for the people he noticed that seemed to be overly nervous. I mean, I get it, this is pretty nerve wracking. A lot of people came here today to try out for this, and only 6 of them get in? I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't nervous too, shame there isn't enough time to try and ease their worries now. It was as he finished this line of thought that he noticed it was his turn to audition.
Joshua entered the small room like the many before him, and quickly took notice of the couple of bored individuals inside the room that didn't spare him so much as a glance when he entered aside from the woman who demanded "Name, age and band position."
Nodding quickly, Joshua walked to the center of the room before the judges and announced "My name is Joshua Brown, I'm 21 years old and I'm auditioning for the keyboardist position" Joshua contemplated if perhaps he should have been less firm with his response, but figured it was already too late to change what he said without looking dumb.
The woman still looked bored out of her mind as she nodded and wrote, what Joshua assumed was what he just said, onto a clipboard and then questioned further "Anything special about yourself that you wanna tell us before you begin?"
Thinking for a moment, Joshua couldn't help but let a little smile out as he responded "This is gonna sound horribly cliched, and I'm sure you've heard it all day. But I wanna join this band to hopefully have a good time with my band mates and make great music together, unlike most the money and fame come second"
The woman nodded, and gave a quick comment before continuing with the audition "Well, you'd be right assuming we've heard that one a few times now. But we don't wanna hear it from you, we wanna see it. So, take the keyboard behind you, take a seat, and show us what you got."
Nodding and moving quickly, Joshua grabbed the aforementioned keyboard and took a seat before the judges and prepared to play. Okay, now what can I play that'll impress them? They've probably already heard all the popular songs already that I can think of, so maybe instead of impressive I should go for something more unique that'll make me stand out. Well, one thing they might not expect is a song from a soundtrack.
Thinking for a second, Joshua nodded to himself on his selection and started moving his fingers across the keyboard elegantly in a familiar tune to himself titled "Jump Up, Super Star!" from a game he believed was fairly popular, and that he believed at least took a bit of skill to learn like he had done so. And as he was playing, he let all the feelings from the past, present and future slip away along with the world itself. In this moment, all that mattered was him and the music he was playing, letting the sounds of the keyboard resonate within himself and moving onto note after note quickly, so as he didn't ruin the song and the feeling of serenity he got every time he played music like this successfully, the feeling that he loved more then anything in this world and always strove for whenever he played.
As he finished up, he opened his eyes that he once again hadn't even realized he had closed and looked immediately to the judges to see that he most definitely peaked their interest. All of them were staring intently at him and, after a spell, started applauding his performance to which not even Joshua could keep the smile off his face for.
After they had stopped applauding the same woman stood up once more and stated "Thank you for coming to perform today Joshua, you'll receive a letter in your email if you made it in or not."
Bowing towards the judges, Joshua quickly thanked them for their time before taking his leave with a satisfied smile on his face. Even if he didn't make it into the band, at the end of the day he was just glad that the judges enjoyed his performance as much as Joshua himself had. And besides, Katherine would have been proud of him for at least trying to succeed like she had asked instead of letting this opportunity slip away from him

To him, Ash sees nothing particularly special about his dress sense – he wears what was normal for someone like him to – any combination of expensive hoodies, sweatshirts, chinos, trousers, shirts and tees that he had gotten from Ralph Lauren or Jack Wills, as well as his – and every boy’s – guilty pleasure, a collection of shorts that paired with the main event, a horde of floral and Hawaiian shirts he lovingly titled his ‘**** shirts’. He pairs these off with nice trainers or loafers, sometimes even sliders depending. Faceclaim: Wes Nelson
Ash is extremely extroverted and confident, being very used to being thrown into awkward social situations where you would think he’d feel out of depth or out of place, as well as also gained confidence of and an appreciation of the musical stage through his experiences at school. He likes joking almost constantly, not taking much seriously, and has the typical British dry wit and dark sense of humour to go along with it.
He’s more intelligent than you would think at first glance too – many subjects and topics most would view as exceedingly complex come rather naturally to him, if at the expense of sometimes he misunderstands the simpler things unless he takes a closer look, believing them more complicated than they are or have to be.
Ash is friendly and easily approachable, taking pride in the ease he has on speaking to others and making friends. His charm and humour also make him quite attractive to the opposite gender – something he also very much enjoys, some would say too much.
He enjoys getting a few friends together for a nice, quiet meal where they can talk about what’s going on with them and just spend time bonding as much as he enjoys getting those same friends to get drunk out of their minds with him and go out to a random club, or going to a house party with everyone he knows – that’s relevant, at least.
However, there is a bit of a caveat to all of this – Ash lives quite a high-paced, high-adrenaline life. While he understands and accepts that some people don’t enjoy that sort of lifestyle, he has little patience for it, quickly getting bored with people who don’t really ever do anything with the group or go out anywhere. He has an even dimmer view of those who actively condemn it – in his eyes, you can be boring if you want and he’ll still like you, but trying to ruin everyone else’s fun is crossing a line. Likes:
A frosty pint and a warm meal at a cosy pub
Tends to default to a burger and a pint at the pub if he has nothing to do and money to burn
Almost constantly joking
Often asks himself rhetorical questions and then answers them immediately afterwards
Fears and Dislikes:
Cheese (but crucially not pizza)
Having to tell girls he’s not interested
Home Town: Born in Marbella, Spain, lived most of his life in a village in Surrey, along with going to school in Harrow. Brief Bio:
Ash was born in Marbella, to Mark Nick and Shannon Mills. Both his parents had chosen to retain their surnames at marriage, a relatively common thing for people of their status, so Ash’s name contained both of theirs – hence, Nick-Mills.
The family continued to live in Marbella for two years – they were there on account of Shannon’s job, being a businesswoman. Mark also had quite a high-paying job, being a programmer, but more often than not he was capable of working at home, so for those two early years he was Ash’s primary caretaker.
Once Shannon’s contract was done, the family moved back to Shannon and Mark’s country of birth – England. The two bought a house in rural Surrey, and that is where Ash spent most of his days. Even from his first few days in school, Ash was a natural people person, quickly making friends with the other kids his age.
He was a member of his school choir from the age of 7, and by his last year in his prep school was also its chairman, already having achieved a Grade 7 singing certificate. In addition, he also went through phases of playing multiple instruments on the side, starting with the recorder, and going through with the piano, drums and violin before eventually settling on the guitar, which he had reached Grade 4 in by the time he left prep school.
He captained his year’s rugby team three years in a row, and was also not a bad hand at cricket, though at football he was one of the worse players on the pitch, though still perfectly capable. In the classroom, he was an ace at science, maths and IT, and due to being forced to read even if he didn’t want to by his parents, he was also one of the best at English. He wasn’t amazing at the other classes, but was still consistently one of the top students in every category.
Due to the high-paying jobs his parents had, Ash grew up with only the most expensive and finest things he could ask for. Miraculously, he didn’t even end up too spoilt because of it, only really gaining a tendency to ask for some money whenever he felt like he needed some, which his parents were more than happy to oblige with.
When he began approaching the end of Year 8, Ash and his parents started looking for where he would go to school for his GCSEs and sixth form. They took in a lot of options, but all three agreed that a public school would be best. Looking at academic results, as well as the sports ladders and extracurricular activities available at each school, Ash decided that his two top choices would have to be Eton and Harrow, and so sat Common Entrance for both.
He aced the interviews for both schools, and was free to choose either. In the end, he decided Harrow would be the better choice due to its proximity to London, and prepared to join the school. Unfortunately for Ash, he hadn’t realised something – Harrow had no girls in it. When he arrived and found this out, he wasn’t entirely happy. However, this was a blessing in disguise – the lack of girls meant no distractions due to puberty, and that was sorely needed.
At Harrow, Ash quickly found that he wasn’t the end-all be-all all around best student there like he had been in prep school. He was on the top end of most, if not all categories sure, but still not the best. In addition, the school timetable was crushing, when taken into consideration with the sports timetable as well. Plus, he also had choir, and singing and guitar lessons to take as well, decreasing his free time even further.
But Ash rose to the challenge. He was never the ‘best’ at any subject again, but he was in the top set for everything. He captained the 2nd XV in lower sixth and the 1st XV in upper, as well as becoming a music prefect that year as well. He attained Grade 8 singing and guitar, led the choir for his final two years, was a member of The Guild and Philathletic Club, and attained a perfect 11 A*s at GCSE.
Despite all this work, his social life didn’t suffer in the least however, making many new friends at Harrow, spending entire weeks in London with them going to parties, or taking a few out (with assorted girls they knew of course) to his family’s holiday home – the house in Marbella he had lived in for two years as a baby.
At A Level, Ash attained a D2 in Pre-U Maths and Further Maths, a D1 in Pre-U Chemistry, and an A* in Computing. He received a place at Oxford which he chose to defer for a year while he decided what he really wanted to do. He spent the year out travelling Asia and Eastern Europe, trying his best to survive without his parent’s money.
Instead, he would earn money through his music, which also helped in keeping up his skills while he travelled the world. Near the end of his trip, he heard about the Nova competition on a phone call back home. Interested, he asked his parents for cash for the first time in a year, came home, and left once again as soon as possible, headed for San Francisco. Hopefully Oxford can wait another year.
Ash is a fan of her energy, and is an advocate of her prank-playing. While it's not really something he'd do by himself, it's a pretty fun actiivty, and Aelle herself is fun to be around, so it's no big deal. She's also perfectly up for actually doing things instead of staying cooped up 24/7, which is also a major factor in his like of her.
The kind of person that Tiff is is rather new to Ash, surprisingly. Most, if not all, the people he had associated with in the past, while some being more eccentric than others, at the very least all had a sort of groundedness to them which Tiff seems to lack, and it somewhat intrigues him. It also helps that she's the closest to his age, and is a lot of fun to be around. As an aside, he also happens to think Tiff is the fittest one in the house, though that fact is kept under lock and key.
The fact that she actively pushes people away is enough to irritate Ash, and for that reason, along with her somewhat buzzkilly nature, Ash steers clear whenever possible. He doesn't need that in his life.
He's perfectly agreeable and likeable, just... incredibly boring in his eyes. They rarely speak, and not because of any dislike, but rather simply because Ash can't think of anything to say to him.
Ash has somewhat of a soft spot for Josh. He recognises his kindness, as well as his struggles due to his introversion, and so does his best to try and genuinely become his friend, to try and bring him out of his shell a bit more.
Similarly to Josh, Ash does speak to Nicole when she's about. They aren't on bad terms by any means, just they aren't necessarily really friends.
Ash likes Kade. He's very similar to the types of people who were at Harrow and who were in his friend groups, and so finds it incredibly easy to talk to him as if he were just some random person. The only real annoyance he has is his tendency to be a buzzkill, but even then he recognises that there is a good reason for it, so he lets it slide.

Ash stepped out of the Uber, thanking the driver before he sped off. He took a quick glance around, before asking himself, ”Now where the **** am I going?” He looked up. ”Oh, there. Don’t know how I missed that.” He answered, seeing the massive queue of people waiting for their shot at this whole thing. ”This is peak, mate. Alright, well. Now or never I suppose.”
As he waited in line, he looked around at the surroundings he found himself in. He'd never been to America before, but so far it looked about the same as what he had seen from all the movies and TV. It was different from what he was used to, but not that impressive considering.
He then turned his gaze to the people in the line. Some were nervous, some were confident, and others still were simply just cocky. Whether they had the talent to back that up was still up in the air. Neither of the two flanking him seemed all that confident, and their anxiety also meant they had no real interest in speaking, instead worrying about their imminent test. Ash took it admirably, though, simply choosing to ignore it, smiling to himself.
“Name, age, band position?”
Ash blinked, zoning back into reality. He glanced at the drab, bare room and the bored looking judges, before silently and quickly collecting himself, a friendly smirk appearing on his face. ”Oh, Ash Nick-Mills, I’m nineteen, and um, was wondering if the listed positions could change or anything? I’m a singer and guitarist, so I’d prefer to go for a spot that has both, if that’s alright. If you can’t do that it’s not a problem, I’ll just pick one or the other-“
The judge interrupted, bored tone as prevalent as before. “You can apply for both if you want, but it’ll just make it harder-“
”Safe, cool. I’ll do that then.”
The judge paused, before continuing. “Right. Anything that makes you special?”
“I’m Grade 8 in both singing and guitar, was a Monitor for music at Harrow as well as a member of The Guild, have competed in and won multiple national musical competitions in the UK, and most importantly…” Ash paused, pointing at his face before continuing, ”I’m also pretty fit.”
The judges stared at him blankly.
”Not a fan of the humour then? Okay, gotcha. I’ll just play for you then, shall I?”
Picking up a guitar, Ash took a moment to quickly think of a song, before instantly going into the initial guitar lick of a song a friend of his was a huge fan of, called Eternal Loop. It was sort of seven and a half minutes long, but it was the first thing he thought of, so he stuck with it.
By the time he finished playing – flawlessly, he might add – those bored looking judges had started looking impressed.
“Good show. You’ll receive a letter by email and at home telling you if you’ve been accepted. Thanks for coming.”
”Cheers for having me, it’s been fun. If there’s any competition, just remember I’m probably fitter than they are, so I’d likely be the better choice, yeah?”
Has anyone ever written anything for you? In your darkest sorrow Did you ever hear me sing?
Username: Molly Discord: Solar#8346 Band Position: Keyboardist
Name: Zoey Marie Gray Nickname: "Street Rat" (artist name) Gender: Female Sexuality: Repulsed Age: 20 Birthday: March 28th Faceclaim: Taylor Momsen
Zoey has long platinum blonde hair that's either held up in a ponytail or hanging down naturally, depending on her mood. Her eyes are hazel, but odds are she'll never take off her round Lennon glasses long enough for you to look at them. They're her signature look, and she pulls them off well, even if she only uses them to hide from the world.
Zoey got her soft, pure face from her mother. Her skin is white as snow, pale from hardly any light exposure. Often times people ask her if she's feeling alright, which drives her crazy. Her nose is small and petite, and if you were to look at her baby pictures, you could still easy distinguish the face. Very little has changed.
Her fashion style also ranges depending on her mood, but the main consistency through everything she wears is the color black. Black dresses covered by an oversized sweater, fishnet stockings, heels and sneakers. Whatever she wears it has to be cozy, or she can't huddle up in a corner with her headphones and a cigarette and zone out.
Zoey likes wearing makeup, but only on the eyes and lip. And, surprise to no one, it's always black. Although she has been known to put on a dark blue lipstick when she's feeling adventurous.
In general, Zoey doesn't have a lot of care for how others see her, only how she feels in what she looks. Her style is best described as punk rock with a lot of comfort.
Personality: Distant | Quiet | Self-Deprecating | Reckless | Apathetic | Diva
If you say hello to Zoey, odds are, she probably won't respond verbally. You might get a nod, you might get a half-smile, but you won't get eye contact, even a secret one hidden beneath her dark sunglasses. It takes the right moment at the right time to even get a chance at meeting Zoey before she turns the other direction and finds a quiet place to sit.
These days, Zoey has little care for anything. She's clinically depressed but doesn't fully realize it, and because of this, she has no energy to care about her appearance, her happiness, or her well being. If you were to tally the most common sentence she'd ever said, "I don't care" would take the cake, followed by her favorite variant, "Who cares?"
Relationships, even friendships, are nowhere to be found on Zoey's radar. Even though she doesn't act closed off, she carries herself with a constant belief that nobody could ever find her pleasant company. She's been a disappointment to everyone who's event meant something to her, and it's an emotional scar she never wants to re-open again. It's better to let them down now, before they learn how much of a mess she really is.
The only thing that keeps Zoey grounded, more than anything, is zoning out on a keyboard with her headphones on and her eyes shut. It's only zoning out like this, going into a complete trance, that sends all the negative thoughts away and completely clears her mind. It is the only peace she knows.
In her downtime, Zoey enjoys absorbing knowledge and exploring the history of the old world. For whatever reason, Zoey feels a strong connection with the past, as if she was put on this earth to observe rather than to live. She has a fondness for classical art and music, and detests people who fail to see the value in the famous works of the past.

Hometown: Coffeyville, Kansas Brief Bio:
Jacob and Anne Marie Gray felt blessed from their heavenly father the day their daughter Zoey was brought into the world on March 28th, 1998. Mrs. Gray's labor was clean and by the book, performed by a midwife in their quaint Kansas home. The happy parents had the highest hopes in the world for their little girl. And for many years, they got exactly what they wished for.
As a toddler, Zoey loved parading around in her mother's homemade pink dresses. She'd run into the front yard and travel three feet, but in her brilliant little mind, it felt like three hundred miles. She was adventurous, excited, and optimistic. Her mother, Anne Marie, used to falsely claim to her social group that her daughter never cried once since she was born. This was only partly a lie--little Zoey just cried when she tripped and hurt herself from having too much fun. There was nothing in the world that couldn't make her smile. And with a soul as fragile and pure as Zoey's, it must be protected at all costs. Only it wasn't.
Her first memory of it was age 7. Zoey was playing dolls on the floor of the living room when her father burst through the door in a drunken fit of rage. He spouted big words that Zoey couldn't comprehend, and flailed his arms around breaking anything he could wrap his fist around. At one point her mother tried to take Zoey into her room, but not until Mr. Gray came up behind them, grabbing Zoey by the collar and throwing her onto her bed with a huge slam of the door.
That would be the first and only time that Zoey's father didn't slam her face instead.
The abuse came and went on and off for the rest of Zoey's life. Her home, which used to fill her with wonder, slowly beat her into submission of feeling hopelessly worthless. Every week her father would scream at the top of his longs how he regretting Zoey even being born. He didn't want to be a father, he had dreams, and Zoey took it all away. And all her mother could do was watch, and rarely, cry.
But through all of this, the only thing that was her saving grace was her skill at the piano. There was an old upright in their living room, owned by Zoey's late grandmother that she never met. Covered in white lace and family pictures, she used to go over and bang on the keys until one day the notes began to have meaning. Her parents sent her to lessons straight away. Even her father stopped everything and sat down to listen to her play a Chopin Nocturne in the calm of night. With experience, she even got the courage to start singing while playing. She was good. She had to be, because everyone in her life wouldn't shut up about it. Even though she felt completely useless, a waste of air, a blemish on society, at the very least, she could play the piano.
School life was pure hell, and didn't do much for Zoey's mental health. She had one friend through elementary and middle school, a girl named Rachel, but come Freshman year of high school she moved to another state and they lost contact. Things were never the same after that. She wasn't picked on, luckily, but she was invisible. Some days she didn't know if that was a blessing or a curse.
Things only begun to look up when Zoey turned 18, and left her hometown and state for good. She was eastern bound for New York City and didn't plan on looking back. She didn't say goodbye, she didn't leave a note. There was nothing for her in Kansas anymore. But even still, her parents never tried to contact her again. And one year later, at age 19, Zoey deleted her former home's phone number off of her contacts.
Despite being broken inside, it didn't stop Zoey from pursuing a better life for herself. And the only one she knows can do that for her is herself. So with a single duffle bag, she traverses around the country on buses, hitchhiked cars, trains, and even planes. Chasing performance opportunities is easy when you don't have to travel with your instrument. Rent is hard to pay when you make money playing keyboard in bar bands, but luckily the secure feeling of having a roof over your head died the day Zoey's father threw the first punch.
Her stage name, when she releases an online EP or actually gets her name featured in the show, is Street Rat, a quote from her favorite childhood film, Aladdin. How befitting of a name it is now. One day at a time, one gig per week. That's just life.
There were way too many people in this room. All of these people came here, hoping to get into this mysterious man-made band. Nearly all of them were going to be disappointed, along with Zoey. Truth be told, she didn't even know why she was here.
Earlier that week, outside of one of her local bars were she plays and spins for tips, she saw a sign for this audition and just added it to her pile. Zoey always tried out for every one of these gigs that blew into town, because why not? She had nothing to lose and apparently everything to gain. There wasn't a single part of herself that thought she'd ever made it big in the music industry, so doing these was just a way to pass the time and maybe score a free bagel/coffee.
Other keyboardists around her had busted out their equipment and started jamming out on their headphones. Meanwhile, Zoey didn't even bring her own keyboard, because she didn't have one. But even if she did, she knew she didn't have what these people were looking for just by looking at the crowd of people around her. These were pop artists, using synthetic sounds and who knows what other kinds of nonsense to create stems with their keyboards. All Zoey knew was acoustic sound--jazz, rock, pop, whatever it is, but it didn't come from a computer.
"God what the **** am I even doing here?" she said silently under her breath.
Still, she didn't leave. There was no need to. She'd do this audition, fail, and go back to her apartment above the pizzeria and write some pathetic song about it.
One person did try to talk to her, a boy in a sparkly glitter vest, and their conversation went as followed:
"Hey, where'd you get your glasses?"
Her number was inevitably called, and she went into the room, all by herself. She was numb to the whole process at this point. Their first words were predictable.
"Name, age, band position."
Zoey had to think about it for a second, embarrassingly.
"Uh I'm...Zoey Gray. Age 20. Piano or keyboard or...whatever."
"Where is your equipment?"
'You've got to be kidding me' Zoey thought to herself. Why did she have to lug some loaned piece of trash keyboard?
"Can I just use that piano over there?" she said, motioning across the room. The people in charge shrugged and figured it would be fine. Zoey knew she was being judged for it, but she didn't care.
After getting her footing, she started to play. She played the audition piece she always did for everything--Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata. When she slammed that chord, she didn't have to look to know everyone in the room's eyebrows just raised.
After about a minute, they stopped her.
"Okay, okay, do you know what you're auditioning for, sweetheart? You sure you don't want to play something else? This is for a band, not the symphony orchestra."
Zoey didn't even respond, she just dramatically rolled her eyes and started playing another song instantly. This time, she sang.
Has anyone ever written anything for you In all your darkest hours Have you ever heard me sing Listen to me now You know I'd rather be alone Than be without you Don't you know
She played the whole song without interruption. Without letting anyone in the room respond, she got up and left without a word.
Appearance: Honestly, Aaron has no clue where his looks come from, and honestly, he doesn't really care. What he does know is that he apparently has his paternal grandmother's eyes, a deep shade of brown that could pass for black in the right lighting. His hair, whilst he does keep it a little longer than a lot of people would deem "professional", is black enough to count as black, but light enough to warrant a second glance to make sure, like his eyes, it's not really a dark brown. Lastly, the skin colour. Is it naturally that tanned? Is it from living in various places where the heat and the sun is an almost tangible thing? Who knows, but his working theory is that it's partly from sun exposure, partially from the Asiatic genetics on his mother's side. Aaron isn't generally the tallest or the shortest in any given group, and measures a passably average 5"11'. His height, plus his average, but on the skinnier side body shape means he isn't intimidating anyone physically. Well, at least when he's shirt is still on. Speaking of shirts, Aaron despises mixed colours, leaving that for either patterned button up shirts or jumpers and jackets. Aaron's shirts are single colour affairs, generally of the black through purple variety. Pants wise, loose shorts are the go-to clothing of choice, but jeans are also a feasible option if the temperature drops enough. Occasionally, Aaron will wear a jacket or similar, but that's a rare day indeed, seeing as LA doesn't go below 15 degrees too often.
Personality: Arrogant, Prideful, Hot-Headed, Impulsive, "Bring it!" attitude? Aaron would agree with all four of those descriptors. He'd also accept lazy, procrastinative, brutally honest, and (only from his friends mind you) loyal and "squishy like jelly". The truth is, Aaron is all of these things. His arrogance comes from knowing that he is better at some things than others, and he sees zero problem with that. If they'd like to prove him wrong, he needs to be prepared to back it up. Is he too quick to jump into a situation if he thinks someone is being a pest? Yes, but once he's into something, he's not bugging out. Essentially, he sees himself as the hard fought King of the Hill, and if someone wants to take that from him, they're welcome to try. If there's no threat to his pride, he's motivated, creative, pushing the boundaries and reaching for more. Or at least that's what he tries to project. In reality he's perfectly happy relaxing in front of a movie, working on a new transposition or a variety of things that he's deemed worthy enough of his time that day. If one were to go looking for him and he's doing none of these, it's entirely possible he's curled up in a corner or similar small space, taking a nap or reading a book.
Considering all of this, it's probably not surprising that Aaron is not the biggest fan of what most would consider "Classical" music. Sure he knows a few pieces when he hears them, and can play a few bars of things like "Ode to Joy", "Ride of the Valkyries" or "Pachabel's Canon", but outside of that, he's completely in the dark. No, Aaron's preferences lie closer to things like Rock and it's contemporaries. Whilst other pianists may have mastered (in his mind at least) "boring" pieces with titles such as "Nocturne Number 2" or "Hall of the Mountain King", Aaron's repertoire is filled with things ranging from 'Katyusha" and "Love Song" to songs such as the well known "Guren no Yumiya" or "Indigo League Theme". Not exactly common pianist knowledge. He also enjoys transposing songs so that he can play them, either with or without pedals or other fancy equipment.
-Movies, specifically Rom-Coms or Martial Arts films
-Video Games, even if he isn't very good at them
-Transposing J-Rock into something he can play himself.
-Calligraphy. He won't admit it, but he thinks it's the prettiest kind of art
-When Aaron hears music and his hands are free, he will be tapping out the beat on the closest available surface.
-If it's available, Aaron will always have hot tea after a meal.
-Aaron always tries to avoid looking into someone's eyes. He will focus on other parts of the face or look away when talking to someone.
-Aaron always tries to shop up a minimum of half an hour early
-Aaron hates obviously nutty foods with a fiery passion
-Aaron is scared of insects that can jump
-One of his biggest fears is that one day he'll get a call from his parents saying that the family piano has been stolen or is irreparably damaged
Hometown: Born in and currently living in San Francisco
Backstory: When a healthy baby boy was born to Mark and Naomi Gaspar, they gave him two names. The first, Aaron, for his father's family, who named the children after saints and religious figures, and Senryu, or "Squirrel" because of a silly childhood promise his mother made when she was a little girl. Whilst both of Aaron's parents had family in the US, Naomi's job moved the family every few years. By the time he was about to start school, Aaron already had more stamps in his passport than people twenty or thirty years his senior.
From the time he was about 7 or 8, it stopped being just the three of them that were moving around. In addition, there was a beautiful piano, bequeathed to the family from a great-aunt he had never met. Regardless, he loved the instrument, and the sounds it made when those ivory keys were pressed.
By 9, Aaron was playing better than the majority of the family's neighbors at the time. 10, and he was thought to be the best in the suburb, if not the district. 13, and he had moved on from piano specific pieces, branching out to other songs with the assistance of an electronic keyboard and a set of various gadgets that let him mix and match whatever sounds he wanted.
And that's basically how it went. Aaron's only constant was his music and it became the one thing he could proudly say he was best at. In hindsight, perhaps that's what lead to his pride and arrogance.
19, a high school graduate, and for once, he was moving back to the US, where he hadn't lived for an extended time since he was born. After a while, he was participating in what amounted to Amp vs Amp matches, and defeating every opponent. It was after one of these showdowns that he was told about Nova Entertainment's most ambitious project to date. Initially, he couldn't be bothered. However, when someone else asked him if he would compete, it was was phrased as a challenge. Well, once the gauntlet was thrown, Aaron was registered the next day. After all, backing down from a challenge just isn't the done thing...right?
Winter in LA. By the standards of most countries, not winter at all. Today was a surprisingly pleasant 16 degrees, and thus, Aaron Gaspar was wearing jeans, which in of itself was an unusual thing, once again, mostly due to the heat. There was no time for spinning his thoughts however, as almost immediately, he was distracted by shouts of "Squirrel!" and hand waving from a group of nearby people, all standing by keyboards in various states of set up. Evidently a jam session was about to take place.
Making his way over, he would have run a hand through his hair had both not been occupied. In one, a keyboard case sporting the emblem of a squirrel surrounded by either complex lines and squiggles, or the words "Aaron Senryu Gaspar" depending on if the reader understood written Japanese. The other hand held the various bits and pieces needed for him to even be considered for a spot in the audition. When he arrived, it was small talk as everyone finished with their equipment before it died down and was replaced by what was a surprisingly cacophonous sound. It seemed everyone had started off with no thought to the others in the group. Laughter followed, and it wasn't long before the cacophony gave way to a pleasant arrangement that shouldn't have sounded as good as it did with everyone showing off as they were.
It didn't feel like it, but shortly, one by one, each person was called inside for the audition, until it was Aaron's turn. Of course, those last minutes were the hardest, when he had packed up his gear but was standing around doing nothing. Just as he had said "good luck" to others, others said "good luck" to him.
Inside it was cold. The air conditioning obviously pumped to the max. A panel of judges sat at a table on the opposite side of the room, and the space where he was to set up was obvious. Before he did so, he gave the obligatory answers to the questions he was asked.
"Your name is Aaron..Senryu Gaspar?". The inflection on his middle name made it clear that the judge wasn't exactly sure of the pronunciation.
"Just Aaron usually. And don't worry, you pronounced it fine" he replied with a smile.
"20. Last week in fact"
"And going for the keyboardist spot with a original transposition arrangement I see. Well, everything seems to be in order, although I think that "Reverse Edgeworks - Forbidden Goddess" is probably the most intriguing title of a piece we've heard today" with small chuckles from the other judges, interspersed with the shuffling of papers. The next word from the judges was as much of a "go" signal he was going to get. "Well, whenever you're ready"
As soon as he heard the words, Aaron took a breath, before laying his hands on the keys.
The song started off slow, and even on the piano, it resembled the strings and horns of an orchestra. When the sounds had built, layered on top of each other, anyone listening could hear that everything was about to change. From echoing an orchestra, Aaron launched right into what was the main part of the song, his fingers moving across the keys and his feet stamping on whatever pedal he needed at the time, producing a fast paced and intense beat.
When he began to sing, it was merely the accompaniment to the piano, and thus he made no effort to play softer. It's not like he was here to try for a position as the singer of the band anyway.
This melody's a warning, the god of death is coming
Dreams of despair are calling, draw the Death 13
The sound of your requiem, a sharp elegy, and terror welcomes you
We must teach the DNA, the truth of the matter is, realism is filled with, numerous errors
So we must learn to bow down, just like a puppet on strings, and sit still in a monochrome cell
If I leave quickly, I'll take the world
We'll cut it down and rip it all to shreds!
Seeing as he only had a limited amount of time, he didn't try and play the entire song that his piece was based on. Once he got past the first verse, he switched gears, bridging into what was essentially the second chorus and what was the lead up to the end of the piece.
When he got to the end of the song, the judges gave him a standing ovation, a crowd burst through the doors and he crowd surfed all the way home. Or at least that's what happened in what was probably a fever dream a while ago. In reality, the judges applauded politely, wrote down a few things, sent him on his way with a "We'll let you know" and he left the room, keyboard in it's case, to the soft sounds of discussion from the judges. The sun was beginning to peek out from behind the clouds, signalling that things, both physically and metaphorically, were about to heat up.
Death be upon you all
No redemption, no mercy
For when I unleash my fury
The god of war will annihilate you all

Name: Agnar Gunnar Bludgeon Nickname: Slaughterhouse Gender: Male Sexuality: Heteroexual Age: 22 Birthday: 6/6/96
Appearance: Norwegian descent | 6’6” height | 222 lbs | Vantablack 2.0/blackest black hair | Black eyes | White skin color/tone
Slaughterhouse stands tall at 6’6” with a bulky 222 lb frame, making him a menacing figure that will scare anyone cold, like the Norwegian mountains he calls home. His uniquely dyed Vantablack 2.0/blackest black hair, black fingernails, black eye contacts, and his death-filled tattoos doesn’t help his image. His whole entire body is filled with tattoos that depict death and gore, like a monster feasting on the flesh of young, naked virgin maidens on his back, a river of corpses lying in their own blood in the depths of hell for both of his arms, the underworld King sitting on his throne with his bloodhounds lying at his feet, with the heads of his enemies on spiked spears next to his throne, with a room filled with skulls for his chest, and then the monsters of hell for his legs. He always wears a mask on his face out in public, always. During interviews, in restaurants (fancy and fast, even in the restroom), anywhere. He only ever takes his mask off when he’s at home. He owns a lot of masks, so the mask he wears is always changing. The mask he’s most known for, his favorite mask, is a mask that resembles Skyrim’s Daedric Helmet. He doesn’t wear corpse paint, but he does paint his face black to blend in with his Daedric Helmet-like mask more. He wears all-black clothing that has spikes, belts, etc, even clothes with chainmail every now and then; basically the most metal clothing he can find. His hair is straight and really long, reaching all the way down to his lower back. His neck is really thick, like George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher-esque thick. He has a medium-sized beard, Jake Bowen-esque size.
Despite what people see on the outside, on the inside, however, Slaughterhouse is a normal human being. He can hold his temper when stuck in traffic, behind a really slow person at the counter, behind a really slow car in a one-lane road, behind a car whose order is taking way too long, buying loads of beer in a store that’s playing music other than metal, is in a place with a lot of kids around, etc; you get it. He’s very patient and doesn’t lose his temper often. He’s very smart, knowing when to restrain himself, both physically, verbally, also recreationally such as with beer, and always saying no to doing drugs. He’s very creative, even taking a class in acting to be a better stage performer. He’s very hard working, especially on things he’s passionate about, such as mastering the guitar, performing on stage, creating music, and designing band logos, guitars, and masks. He’s not a very aggressive person. He doesn’t get in fights, but be warned, he won’t hesitate to protect himself or stop fights from happening. He doesn’t like to argue if it’s unnecessary, like over which cars to buy, or whose turn is it to do the dishes, take out the trash, etc, and only sees value in arguing if it will lead to something productive, like making an album, deciding whether to sign a contract or not for a record label, endorsements, etc. He’s an extreme person, always drinking hard, loves taking risks liking bungee jumping, playing with swords and shooting guns, drives fast cars really fast in controlled environments, headbangs, windmills, stomps, spits liquid really hard and fast during concerts, watching horror movies, etc. He’s very aware of other people’s feelings, knowing when to play it cool when there’s certain people around. One example, he curses like a trucker, but holds back his tongue when in the presence of children, religious people, etc. Another example is if he’s in a bar and there’s some people who drank a bit too much, he’ll hold his tongue and watch what he’ll say in an effort to avoid a bar fight. Situations like those. A third example, he has a dark sense of humor, but in the presence of sensitive people, he’ll hold his tongue. He’s a family man; values family relationships and views them as the most important relationship a human can ever have. Family is forever. He has a great relationship with his parents, and loves spending time with them every once in a while. He also values friendship and romantic relationships, and as such is very loyal to his friends, and is there to protect them when the situation calls for it. He’s a mixture of an extro and introvert, aka an ambivert. He loves to perform, hang with fans, hang with fellow musicians, hang with fellow metalheads, hang with his bandmates every once in awhile, but he also loves to be left alone, such as to practice guitar, doing mundane things like going to the store, and the like. To further elaborate on his ambiversion, he doesn’t want people to know who he really is like, for he believes that showing people who he’s really like will be a detriment to his stage reputation. He both literally and figuratively wears a mask whenever he’s out in public.

Home Town: Born in Oslo, Norway. Currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Brief Bio:
Slaughterhouse was born to full-on metalhead parents. His parents wanted their firstborn son to become the most metal musician in history. They introduced him to guitar and metal music very early on, around age 5. He, of course, loved it. Later on beginning at age 13 his parents would take him to metal concerts, which he, of course, loved. He saw the band Cannibal Corpse for the very first time and fell in love with Death metal music and performing. He wanted to start his own band and be like them. Once he saw Cannibal for the very first time, his future was now set. His parents realized that and helped him to accomplish that future 100%.
After that pivotal moment, he started looking exploring metal music on his own, and found bands such as the relatively new (this’ll be 2009) Suicide Silence and Whitechapel. A whole new world was opened to him in the subgenre of Deathcore. There he started thinking about being more than just being a Death metal guitarist starting a Death metal band. He also discovered 7 string guitars because of SS and Whitechapel and wanted to play one. Another major band he soon discovered was Meshuggah, where he discovered 8 string guitars.
When he was old enough to work, he applied for his first job so he could start saving money to buy his own gear. Soon he bought his very first 7 string, then 8. He immediately started experimenting on those two instruments. It wasn’t long he realized that he needed to upgrade his amp and cab sets to accommodate the 7 and 8. While working to save up enough to by an amp and cab set that would work for 7’s and 8’s, he spent his spare time developing his style further on the guitars. At age 18, he finally had the best amp and cab set he could find for 7’s and 8’s, along with two new additions with the 9 and 10 string guitars.
He was finally ready to take on the world. Or so he thought. Before he started a band, he needed an image. So he went to college to learn music theory, performance arts, and regular art. After he finished his year of college, he decided he learned what he needed. The next step he took was to buy himself stage clothes. With the help of his parents, who had collected contacts with notable metal musicians over the years, they finally found someone who was the go-to person for making stage costumes for musicians. After some time has passed, he finally had his own stage clothes, complete with a mask. He would continue doing business with the costume person onward, getting more masks and clothes. He also took his college experiences to draw the most metal tattoos he could imagine, and later got them tattooed on his body.
Now present time, at age 22. He had the skills, the talent, the knowledge, the looks; the whole package. Except exposure. Norway wasn’t big enough anymore. He was famous in Norway, but that was it. He needed an opportunity to go to a bigger country to gain huge exposure. After searching everywhere, he finally found that opportunity: in Los Angeles, California, USA with the band Ephemeral Summers looking for members. He knew this was it! Even if it wasn’t gonna be a brutal Death metal band, the possibility of how much exposure he’d get was too much to pass up! So, he decided to audition and flew all the way to Los Angeles.
The day finally arrived. Slaughterhouse woke up early in the morning, around 7 am, which is something he never does. He was that excited. He immediately went to get dressed. He first painted certain parts of his face black, put on his favorite mask, the “Skyrim Mask” as it’s known, his favorite clothes, and his favorite spiked boots. He checked himself in the mirror as he always does and was satisfied with the way he looked. He then did some warm up practice on his guitar for an hour, then continued practicing what song he was gonna play for the judges.
It was now 10 am, breakfast time. He put his chosen guitar in its case, packed it in his rental car, and went out to eat at a restaurant. Once he got there, he hopped out and immediately the locals started staring at him, thinking millions of thoughts as to who this person was. Once he entered the restaurant, however, he quickly calmed the people there by calmly saying, “Table for one please. Thanks.” No commotion. The waitress sat him at his table, they exchanged words, and he quietly looked at the menu, even though he already knew what he was gonna order. After 5 minutes have passed, the waitress came, asked him for his order, and he calmly answered, “Yes, I’d like two plates of french toast, and two plates of hashbrowns, all with extra butter and syrup please. I’d also like a Dr. Pepper as well.” The waitress said, “Wow, you’re a big eater! Well, I’ll be on my way then.” He then answered, “Thank you very much.” At this point everyone was calm enough to continue eating as usual. His food arrived shortly thereafter, ate it all, paid, and off he went to his car.
Next stop was the auditions. He was preparing for this moment. He had a piece of paper of the address and how to get there. It took him awhile since he wasn’t familiar with the US, but he eventually arrived at the place. He got out of his car, took a deep breath, grabbed his guitar case, and off he went. He entered the building, and there were people waiting their turn already! After waiting several hours patiently and calmly, it was finally his turn to shine! A person came out of the audition room and said loudly, “Slaughterhouse. Slaughterhouse.” He immediately jumped and said, “That’s me!” and walked towards the person. The person then led him to the audition room where he met the shocked faces of three judges, Rhandy, Paulaa, and Simone.
Rhandy spoke first, saying in a loud and surprised voice, “WHOA! So this must be Slaughterhouse! WOW! You look like you really came prepared dog!”
Slaughterhouse then replied back in his death growl voice, “Oh I came prepared alright. They don’t call me Slaughterhouse for nothin.”
The three judges were once again caught off-guard and were surprised by his voice. Rhandy continued, “Well, before auditions begin, tell us who you are. Full name, age, position auditioning for, and what makes you stand out.”
Slaughterhouse answered, again with his death growl voice, “My full name is Agnar Gunnar Bludgeon, Slaughterhouse being my nickname. I’m 22 years old. I’m a guitar player, but I can also play bass as well, and that’s what I’ll be auditioning for today.”
Simone spoke up, saying in a serious tone, “What a name you have there, Slaughterhouse. Um, and I don’t mean to be rude but, um, you didn’t tell us what makes you special.”
Slaughterhouse replied, “I don’t mean to be rude, but I thought it was obvious as what makes me special.”
The three judges smiled at his cleverness. Simone continued, this time with a more casual tone, “Well, it looks like you have quite the wit. Besides that, and your, what I can only assume to be your stage persona, what else makes you special?”
Slaughterhouse quickly answered, “Well how about I show you instead?” The judges looked impressed by that response. He then went to grab his 6 string guitar from his case and got ready.
Once they saw that he played electric guitar, Rhandy spoke up, yelling to a different person, “Hey dog, can you get this guy an amp?” He then turned to Slaughterhouse and asked, “So, what song are you gonna be playing for us today?”
Slaughterhouse answered, “Frantic Disembowelment, by Cannibal Corpse.” The judges didn’t say anything. Right on que the guy brought an amp for Slaughterhouse to plug in to. He plugged his guitar in, turned on his amp, and away he went. From the very first note, he started windmilling. He windmilled throughout the whole song. After the song was over, the judges were indeed impressed by what they just saw and heard.
Rhandy spoke first saying in a loud voice, “Wow! What a performance dog! I-I’m speechless. I didn’t expect that at all. Good job dog.”
Paulaa spoke second, saying in an obnoxiously loud and excited voice, “WOW! OMG! LIKE, WHAT?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Like, that was the craz-i-est thang, *deep breaths and leans forward* I EVA SAW! MMM HMM! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!”
Simone spoke third, saying with a shocked and confused voice, “W-What was that just now? You were playing so fast, I gotta ask: were you really playing the guitar? And, does your neck hurt after all that spinning?”
Slaughterhouse answered, “Yes I did play the guitar. Only fakes use a backing track or autotune to perform, and I HATE fakes! With a burning passion that can only come from the depths of hell itself. And no, my neck does not hurt.”
Simone had a shocked looked on his face, and continued, “Well, I guess I’m at a loss of words then.” He then looked at the other three judges and asked, “Is there anything else to say about this guy?” Both replied no. Simone then looked back over at Slaughterhouse and said, “Well, it looks like we have nothing else to say. Looks like you’re done with your audition. Have a good day.”
Slaughterhouse then unplugged his guitar, put it in his case and started to hold onto it. He looked at the judges, gave them a nod bye, and then left without saying a word. Once he left the room the judges looked over at themselves at held a quick discussion. Simone started by saying, “I don’t know. This guy obviously plays metal music. Would he truly be a good member for the band?”
Rhandy replied, “I don’t know dog. I think we should wait to see what the other people have to offer to really see where he falls into all this.”
Paulaa replied, “I actually think he sucked! Like, my ears literally began to hurt after that. *gasp* I think I may need to go to the ER after this!”
Simone replied again, “Well, that’s the thing. He’s so out of this world, would putting him in the band actually work? Would we get even more exposure and publicity by signing him, or would it all come crashing down on us? I know crazy decisions have worked before, but, is it worth it to take that risk?”
Rhandy repeated himself once more, “Like I said, dog, we can’t know for sure until we see all auditions. It’s a tough one for sure, but frankly, dog, I think we should wait and see. You said it yourself, dog, he’s a big risk, so I think we should think about him carefully. Let’s wait and see, dog.” And with that, they nodded in agreement, and next comes the next audition.

Name: Nicole Alejandra García. Nickname: She likes both of her names, so she likes being called by her full name, but anything will work. Gender: Female. Sexuality: Heterosexual. Age: Twenty-four. Birthday: October 17.
Nicole Alejandra stands out from most Ecuadorians; being taller and also having fairer skin than most women in her country, since most have some mix of indigenous and/or black in their blood. She's often confused with an American girl, which makes her foreign look more obvious. Amongst Americans she feels more at home.
The features she likes the most about herself are her hazel eyes, bushy brows, and dark brunette wavy hair that she can style the way she wants to. In a hurry, though, she just ties it in a bun, because it's faster, and doesn't get in the way.
Usually people around her also comment on her form, and say she has a good body. This means she's fairly skinny while having nice, subtle curves. Thank genetics and metabolism for that.
As for her clothing, she prefers being stylishly casual, which basically means putting on a nice combination of clothes without caring too much about the clothes brand. She likes wearing shirts with designs, or simple blouses in dark blues, purples or pinks, and jeans or, if the climate allows it, shorts or skirts that complement the shirt or blouse she’s currently wearing. If she needs to be more formal or elegant, she styles her hair in a fancy style and wears dresses, or whatever fits the occasion. But she doesn't feel comfortable with high heels or leather.
Faceclaim: Alejandra Alonso
People who have met her say Nicole Alejandra is sweet and caring, and she tries to be. She tries to treat other with warmth, politeness and respect, which would be the way she herself would want to be treated. Because everyone deserves to be treated like that. But inside her mind she has a tendency of being judgmental, especially when someone doesn't reciprocate her way of treating them. But as easily as part of her respect can be lost, it can also be regained if she sees a redeeming quality in them. As part of this, and in an attempt to understand the people around her, she tries to be empathic.
Nicole Alejandra can also be impulsive. Though she has good intentions, her rash actions can get the better of her and can be misinterpreted or may not have the results she expects. But on the other side, she has a good self-control on her emotions and rarely loses control of them. In that way, she's mostly rational, observing herself and her surroundings and analyzing them. However, there are rare occasions where her emotions get the best of her, much like her impulsivity.
Her main outlet for her emotions and imagination is her creativity. Nicole enjoys many forms of art, like reading, writing on occasion, drawing, and writing poetry that she has lately started to create tunes for. In her writing and drawing, she lets out the way she feels, like talking to a very trustful friend. She tends to keep a journal with her specifically for this purpose. Also, she finds it important to have breaks at the day for herself to do these activities, or simply to think and reflect. If she wants to be alone it’s to do this, rather than because she’s socially awkward or introverted.
Spending time with friends
Ranting, especially when she thinks someone misunderstood her or her intentions or there is an awkward silence.
Singing and whistling songs that can go with different situations or with her internal mood.
Twirling her hair, especially when she’s thinking or anxious.
Can be disorganized
Fears and dislikes
People who litter or curse excessively or drink/smoke a lot
Being a disappointment; to herself or others
Being left behind or forgotten in a major way
Home Town: Nicole Alejandra was born in Quito, Ecuador. She lived in there for most of her life, but moved to America when she became of age. She currently resides in the village of Carmel in the Monterey Penninsula, California.
Brief Bio: Nicole Alejandra was born in Ecuador to two parents of european descent and privileged education, Rafael García and Anastasia Proaño. Despite their status and social obligations, RAfael and Anastasia were very supportive and loving to Nicole and her older brother Santiago José. Santiago was more of what they would have wanted and expected: social, outgoing, responsible and getting good grades at school. He seemed to have a good future ahead of him. Meanwhile, Alejandra did well enough in her studies, but school didn't really seem to motivate her very much. Time and time again, she would spend her time drawing or reading a book, and would sometimes put her school, family and social responsabilities as secondary. She did what was required, but her parents could tell her mind wasn't really into most of those responsabilities.
At first those activities didn't really affect Nicole Alejandra's grades, and she didn't spent too much time in her drawings and books, so her parents let her. They realized she very much enjoyed these activities, and her drawing was nice and creative. Then she began writing as well, using the characters she drew and expanding them more. As her passion for these activities grew, she began to neglect her other responsabilities, this was around the time she was 14, close to 15, in ninth grade. This was when they really began to worry. She didn't care much for what normal girls her age would: boys, appearance, parties or social reunions. In fact, she had a small circle of friends with whom she did things with on weekends and some schooldays, but she mostly preferred working on her art reading and writing. Her grades began to drop. Her teachers at her school were worried and puzzled.
"She shows a natural talent for math and gets concepts quickly, but she doesn't always hand out her homework on time, and on other subjects she's doing poorly, like she doesn't care. Though she does well on group projects. She's never failed a class, but she's falling behind," Nicole Alejandra's core teacher told them when they asked for a meeting with them. They talked with her, communicating their concerns. And while this seemed to help improve her grades and other aspects, they realized she was not really motivated. The school year passed, and in the summer before tenth grade, Anastasia decided to contact one of her friends, who was a pychologist. Thankfully, Verónica was an open person, and not one of those psychologists who think the solution to everything is medication. She told them that there was nothing wrong with Nicole Alejandra, she simply enjoyed doing other things. She advised them to change her into a Liberal Arts school, giving her art lessons, and setting schedules and goals for her, helping her plan ahead. They followed this advice, changing her of school, and they were pleased to see she was really imporving.
During all of this, Nicole Alejandra felt sad that she couldn't please her parents the way she was, and was often overshadowed by her older brother. She did her best to try to please them, but didn't want to stop making art, because she found it made her happy and she was able to channel a lot of what went on with her into them. She was sad for leaving her old friends behind, but her new friends shared more interests with her, and she found herself sharing more of her interests with them. Her last years at school were really enjoyable. And she discovered music in tenth grade, when one music elective asked them to play an instrukent. She chose piano. A friend of hers, Sebastián Reyes, suggested that she create her own songs to go with her stories. But it was only in eleventh grade when she really gave this idea a try. It took practice, patience and more understanding of her characters, but it pushed her limits. Although her songs were not very complicated, they sounded nice to her and made her feel more connected to her characters. She sometimes lived in the clouds and her characters and stories became more and more real to her, but she was missing someone who would really guide and encourage her talents other than one or two electives at school.
Finally, once she graduated, Nicole Alejandra was a different person. More confident in herself and in her abilities, more social, and more motivated towards life. But now that school was over, the worry became about what she'd study as a career. Her parents told her that becoming a writer or drawer or even musician would take effort. That it took patience and luck for her stories or art pieces to sell. Finally, they compromised. She would study education, since she was good at subjects like English and Math, which were always needed. And she could study an arts minor. She would help to pay for the extra lessons, though, that was the deal. She went to study abroad to the United States on her last year, making a great effort and giving lessons to people who needed it on her free time. She took more piano lessons, joined a book club and art classes. After she graduated, Nicole Alejandra decided to stay in the United States and look for jobs and opportunities there. She lived with some uncles of hers from her mother's side who were living there. She found teaching opportunities, but even though by now she had almost wrote an entire book, with a few character illustrations and even a song to go with it, it didn't really pique anyone's interest. These last two years she had also began writing songs for herself, that spoke about her directly, and not just about her characters. There was one she felt particularly proud of.
Finally, after a whole year of not really finding her niche at anything artistic, Nicole Alejandra decided to return to Ecuador. Maybe she would find something else there, a friend told her of Nova Entertainment.
"Even if you don't get in, you can still try. If you don't try, you'll never know, and even if they don't accept you, you can still upload a video of you singing your song on Youtube, Nicole. You really have a pretty voice, and your songs are very touching."
Nicole Alejandra flushed, since she had never really considered here singng and song-writing as real talents. She found herself playing with the idea, practicing her song and fine-tuning it and her voice and the piano notes that would go with it. Finally, she decided she would join.
"I've got nothing to lose."
Aelle Kaiya Rivers: Though Nicole Alejandra and Aelle have different energy levels, they have a similar overall look about life, which helped Nicole open up to her initially. They complement each other, Nicole Alejandra helping calm Aelle down when needed, while Aelle pushes Nicole Alejandra to do things with the rest of the band she wouldn't normally do. Nicole admires the other girl's energy and positivity and enjoys talking to her. She's the one band member she's confided in the most, and is grateful and happy that Aelle has befriended and confides in her.
Ash Nick-Mills: While not close friends, Ash seems to treat Nicole Alejandra with respect, so she reciprocates that. She may disapprove of some of his qualities, but overall thinks he's cool, and has an overall positive impression of him, though they don't hang out much because of their difference in interests and age.
Tiffany Krystal Lee: At first impression, since they were very different, Nicole Alejandra saw Tiffany as unorganized and a bit overbearing, but after a year she has learned to accept her and really cares for her, especially on her vulnerable moments. She's especially good at listening to Tiff's rants, actually sometimes liking listening to her and not having to speak too much herself. They get along very well, but they sometimes irritate each other due to Tiffany's tendency of messing her side of the room and their different energy levels, plus their mutual impulsivity. However, this shared trait sometimes helps Nicole Alejandra to be more outgoing than she usually would be.
Amelia "Amy" Barkworth: Nicole Alejandra really does not get Amy. She feeels like they could get along and maybe even be good friends if Amy let her in, but she doesn't seem to want to. In fact, she's normally distant and cut off in conversations, except when working together. Then sje's just coolly professional. While at first this may have stung and hurt her since she'd be worried that she did something wrong, with time she would have learned to accept it and not dwell on it, especially thanks to some of Aelle's words of advice.
Joshua William Brown: In general terms, Nicole Alejandra really likes Joshua and gets him. She respects his way of caring and treating others. They especially bond over creative outlets, like drawing and song-writing, which he seems to enjoy learning about. They have also played videogames a few times, but they seem to enjoy their creative arts more. While they don't talk about personal stuff like she does with Aelle, Nicole Alejandra and Joshua just really seem to get each other without really having to talk about it, and she likes that.
Emmett Metzger Emerson: Nicole Alejandra and Emmett are on friendly terms. Nicole doesn't dislike him, but she sometimes disagrees about his blunt way of saying things, though she acknowledges that sometimes being direct works better than sugarcoating it. They may spend time together when with others, but don't share a lot of interests. It is noteworthy to mention, though, that sometimes his constant tapping helps in her songwriting to try out different rythms and melodies for her songs.
Kade Ethan Thomas: Nicole Alejandra mostly respects Kade and understands his need to be firm when the bandmembers step out of line, but think sometimes he should be more flexible and trust more in his members. Sure, he will make the final decision and she understands that, but a good leader can also see the value in all the members of the group independantly. Of course she's careful of his reactions and of upsetting him, so she voices her opinions in the best way possible.after his reactions, she would be more careful of voicing her opinions in the beat way possible.

She learned how to horse back-ride when she was young, but fell from a horse once, and was reluctant to ride again since that event.
She is good at games of logic and math.
A few of the books she read were in English.
She has only dated one boy when she was 16, though it didn’t last very long.
Nicole Alejandra twirled a finger through her hair as she waited on the line for her turn to audition for Nova Entertainment. She had said to herlsef that she had nothing to lose, but she realized she was really wishing and hoping to get accepted into this. Even if it didn't last as long, she would at least get to try her luck and maybe become more kown. Maybe this could be like The Voice, where even if they didn't win singers could get an opening and become more well-known. She sighed, imagining how it would be like. Was being famous fun? Nicole Alejandra took out a book she'd been reading, named 'Scarlet'. It was interesting and helped relieve some of her stress.
Someone cleared their throat. "Next!" As she closed her book, she realized with a start that it was now her turn.
"Sorry," she apologized. The guy who was doing the auditions waved her into the room.
Once there, she saw another man and a woman, all older than her, wearing dark, semi-formal clothes.
"Name? Age? Band position?" The woman asked, with no tone inflection, like she just wanted this to be over.
"I'm Nicole Alejandra García. I'm twenty-three, auditioning for vocals and keyboard?" That's what the notice had said, but she only really knew it as piano. Plus she wasn't sure if she could audition for two positions.
One of the men raised an eyebrow at her.
"Where are you from?" He had probably not recognzed her accent. She flushed, and lowered her hand went it was about to curl into her hair again.
"I'm from Ecuador, sir. But I've been in the U.S. for about two years now."
"Well, Nicole Alejandra García from Ecuador. Show us what you've got." said the other man, the one who had called "next". She was used to americans saying her name in a funny way, but he actually pronnounced it almost perfectly, with the R like it was supposed to be.
She went to the piano on the corner, and took out a sheet of music from her bag, with the notes and lyrics to help guide her.
She took a deep breath, focusing on her song and her feelings towards it. She tried to forget she was auditioning, to forget these strangers were judging her.
She bagn with a soft lulling introduction that became sad, then began singing with the sends of hopelessness she remembered feeling when her parents, and others around her as well, didn't appreciate her talent or creativity much.
If I could dream a dream Or maybe wish upon a star That I might find the place Where I could feel at home
[the song sped up, trying to express desperation and release]
But I’m lost in a maze With no map or direction And fear holds me in its grasp Darkness won’t let go
[then the song slowed down again but became more cheerful, as if finding new hope]
Maybe there'll be a release From these wretched chains I will search for a soul And a beautiful song
[then the speeding up and desperation again, for the verses that served as chorus]
But I’m lost in a maze
With no map or direction
And fear holds me in its grasp
Darkness won’t let go
[Again the slowing down. Her voice lowered a bit]
But the stars remain silent And my voice won’t be heard The curtains fall, the night is near All hope is gone and I’m still here.
As she finished, she lingered on the final note, and ended with a quick but nice ending of a do-me-so combination.
She raised her eyes, becoming conscious of her surroundings again. Her eyes felt wet and she blinked. The two men and the women looked at her.
"Are the lyrics yours, sweetie?" The woman asked. Nicole Alejandra nodded, knowing it was not the best song out there, being actually quite simple. But she had put her soul into making it and her heart into singing it, she thought.
"Yes. I originally wrote it for a story, but with some changing it became my sing too." She didn't know why she said that. They may not care about her writing. But, she had been honest.
The woman nodded, not saying anything else, but taking a note in her clipboard.
"That's all, you'll hear from us if you got accepted," the man who had called her into the room said. She nodded.
"Thank you." She grabbed her things and, hert racing, afraid to really hope, she left the room.

Thank you to everyone that applied for Ephemeral Summers! Regine and I decided to go with these band members, because we couldn't decide on just six people. We received so many wonderful forms, and it was so incredibly hard to narrow it down. Please don't be discouraged if your character was not accepted.
I will be contacting the band members once this is posted!
