The exterior of the complex has an X Accuracy waiting for you in the tall grass there. There's also a stairway that leads back into Virbank City, but there's a Roughneck down there that will trade you a Great Ball for an ordinary ol' Poke Ball, so you might as well make this trade. You can trade once every day. Keep taking that path into Virbank City and around the outer wall of it until you reach a dead end, which has a Silk Scarf waiting for you there. This item powers up the Normal-type attacks of the Pokemon holding it by 20%, which can be a pretty substantial difference, particularly this early in the game. Pokemon like Patrat or Lillipup will love having it.

Anyway, head back to the entrance to the Virbank Complex so you can go inside of it.

As you can see, there are several helpful Pokemon for you to catch here.

There's a man near the entrance to the Complex. Talk to him and he'll ask if you can find his three Workers hiding around the Complex. Say yes and then get to work tracking them down!

There's a Youngster in the center of the area that has a Lillipup L13. Also, do you see the empty patch of grass just south of him? Press A while facing it to pick up a free Great Ball. Sneak over to the east of that and then go north to find some thick grass as well as a Scientist guy. Talk to him and he'll say some things, then run off. Weird. Be sure to pick up the hidden TinyMushroom in the upper-left corner, in the empty patch of grass.

The Scientist can be found over on the west side of the Complex, over by some of the power line things. Talk to him again and he'll run off once more, this time heading down towards the water. If you talk to him down there, he'll give you an Ether for your trouble. There's also a Lass down by the water, and she uses a Woobat L13. You can also talk to the lady nearby her and she'll give you a Great Ball.

The next Worker can be found further north, crossing over some more of the pipes. He's got a Patrat L12 and an Elekid L12.Now, to get to work tracking down those Workers. You'll need to climb the stairs near the Youngster in the middle of the place, but you'll also need to cross over some of those pipes. Don't stick around on them too long, otherwise you might fall down! Start by crossing them and then heading to the southeast corner, where you'll find one of the Workers. He'll challenge you to a battle, and he uses a Magby L12 and a Koffing L12. While you're over there, pick up TM46 (Thief) down the stairs. It's a 40-power Physical-based Dark-type attack that steals the held item of the foe (although it doesn't work on Trainers' Pokemon anymore; just wild Pokemon). At this point in the game, when move selection is limited, it's worth having on your Pokemon that can learn it.

The last Worker is just across from him, but before jumping down to say hi, swing by and challenge the Youngster to a battle. He uses a Patrat L13. Finally, jump down to fight the third Worker, who uses a Riolu L12 and a Lillipup L12.

Alright, now that you've done that, that's everything there is to do here, other than catch Pokemon and train against Audino. If you want to train against Audino, you might enjoy doing it in the outside part, since it's a little closer to the Pokemon Center and they're at the same level anyway. After you've beaten the three Workers, go talk to the guy at the beginning and he'll reward you with TM94 (Rock Smash), a 40-power Fighting-type attack that has a chance of lowering the foe's Defense. It comes a little too late for the Gym, but it may be good for some of your Pokemon, as quite a few Pokemon can learn it.

Whenever you're ready, head over to the Virbank Gym, which is the tiny little building in the southeast corner of town.
